We've purchased several of these LEGO City road base plate set. I think we are on our 3rd one as my son continues to expand his Lego City empire. These roads have been a game changed for my 11-year-olds varios Lego City sets. Before this, his city was spread across tables and floors with improvised roads. Once we added these plates, everything instantly felt organized, realistic, and expandable. The roads connect cleanly, line up perfectly with LEGO City buildings, and give his police stations, firehouses, and shops a proper street layout. It immediately elevated the whole setup from “collection of sets” to a real city. What I appreciate most as a parent is how this encourages long-term creative play. Instead of rebuilding one set at a time, my son now spends hours planning traffic routes, rearranging neighborhoods, and expanding districts. The plates are sturdy, lie flat, and hold up well even when the city gets rearranged frequently. This set doesn’t come with flashy builds or minifigures—and that’s actually the point. It’s a foundation piece that serious LEGO City builders will use constantly. My son considers this just as important as any building set he owns.
