Split 6" thick concrete
I had to remove sections of old patio and I didn't want to break it up in a way that I could reuse the concrete for a garden wall. So I used these along with an SDS 5/8" bit to drill a line of holes about 6" apart and then progressively tap these in. I was surprised that this created a reasonably straight crack and allowed me to break up the slab into 10"x15" blocks to use as a rustic wall. They work very well and I didn't really need to hammer them very hard. I watched some videos and did that they did.

Worked for splitting large stone
Worked perfectly. Had huge stone on a chimney that we're removing. Needed to split the stone to safely get it down by myself. Drilled the holes and then wedges these in lines across each stone to split them into manageable chunks. The rubber band around each is brittle, but as far as I can tell you don't really require them so they're reusable without.

I love these.
Honestly, these are friggin’ excellent. I used them to break HUGE rocks out of my driveway. If there was ever a time for me to write a review on something i think these are probably the most important. These things work SO good. I was breaking boulders with these that are about 4 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet and some even larger. They really work super good. Because this comes with so many you can really break some very large rocks. For the price of this set these are crazy good, I hammered them in using my small sledgehammer and they show virtually no wear after months of use and breaking probably 40 boulders that i needed to remove with my tractor to create a driveway. If you need to break rocks these work excellent, i finished jobs that a professional couldn’t do with his mini excavator, a rock saw and a sledgehammer. Seriously, these are great. I used them in conjunction with a Dewalt Impact drill with a reinforced 4 way concrete bit from lowe’s. Basically unstoppable combination.

Came in handy
Like the Chinese massage parlor, these come in handy. I’ve busted up some boulders the size of king kongs nuts with ease with these things

They work, but better options are available.
First, they work well in Dolomite. My reason for not rating 5 stars is the O ring which keeps the wedges together. It is easily damaged by a misdirected strike of the hammer or pinching against the rock you are splitting. The metal wedges held up well.
