Good tool, compares well with the Mayhew.
I needed a portable hammerless punch for my tool roll, when I am on the go and need to help friends in need of handyman work. I had a Mayhew already and wanted to try other American-made tools. HIT came on my radar and I took a try. Good tool. Not exceptional, but good. The finish was clean. No USA or company branding stamped on the tool? Shame... because no one will know it's made in USA by just looking at it. Mayhew has the USA stamped. That's a nitpick though. The tool works and hammers well. The pin is great because it's part of one solid construction. If you look at reviews of Spring Tool's pin punch, some customers noted that the pin fell out after a few uses. This will never happen with the HIT - the pin punch is a part of the overall metal build. Very well engineered. An important note for customers reading this: ALWAYS RELEASE THE TOOL WHEN IT'S STRAIGHT. If you release this hammerless punch when the spring is bent, you will 100% run the risk of the spring bending upon release. End users need to be mindful to use the tool properly, and it will last you decades of use. Overall, I'm happy with the hammerless punch and I look forward to working on future projects in and out of the house.

What an unique and awesome invention! As soon as I open it I went to try it out. I was hooked right away and cleaned and lubed three doors right away. It's such a fun little toy that was quality made. It works flawlessly and if you pull it a bit further the pins just fly out. This tool turned something that was a frustrating chore to a fun little activity. Thanks HIT!

Great alternative to hammer
This tool works well. I had very tight hinge pins that were difficult to remove. Using a hammer was very awkward and required so many strikes that I was worried the door frame itself would get damaged from the force. When I used this HIT tool, it still took dozens of strikes (be patient) but the pins gradually slipped out. This was much less riskier than swinging a hammer. Highly recommended.

Love this tool.
Easy to use and well-made here in the USA. It made short work of removing the door pins for me. I like I can get a direct hit on the pins instead of using a hammer and punch.

Price is fair, ease of use, wish it were a bit longer
This definitely helped take the pins out of the door hinge, only one issue is if you don’t manage to push the whole pin out at some point it won’t reach the full length and you’ll need something else to finish the job, easy to use and perfect for tight spaces Cons: needs to be a tad bit longer for some hinges to fully reach. Price: is fair compared to other options out there

Well worth it.
It works well! I took a chance because it looked a little flimsy. But it is anything but. Well made. Solid. No hammer and screwdriver necessary.

Very good for removing the pin, Just watch your angle because the tool can bite back, but been very happy to use, faster then unscrewing from the frame

Amazing. Such a simple principle, but it works like a charm. May not be as effective on a rusted hinge, but I have yet to encounter such a problem. I'm impressed.

The HIT Tool Door Hinge Pin tool's pin should really be made of hardened steel and pressed into a socket in the body, but instead the body is one-piece and the pin is machined-down, so any lateral force can bend and snap the pin. Otherwise the construction of fine. Handy for removing female sockets from EC-2/3/5 connector housings on LiPo battery packs.
