Grin BY Grin Bread Bags, My One Year Review
Spoiler alert I love these bags! I do a fair amount of home sourdough bread baking. It's just my wife and I as a rule so I normally bake two loaves every seven to ten days, but truthfully it just depends on how quickly we eat the bread. Sometimes, two loaves will last a couple of weeks. Anyway, I always bake two loaves at a time since it's a couple of days process. One is usually unbleached white flour or whole wheat, and the second loaf is usually a seeded Rye. To keep them fresh, for years I reused plastic Dave’s bread bags, but honestly my loaves are big enough to make that a challenge. The bags were barely large enough. So I began looking for something better. At first I tried muslin bags, which while they are great for transporting bread, they are useless for keeping it fresh. The muslin being extremely porous, the bread dries out and gets stale very quickly. Luckily I found the Grin By Grin bags. They come as a pair which is perfect for my needs. Also, being different colors ivory and blue I can easily distinguish one loaf from the other. I have used these bags continuously for about 13 months and they are great! Pros: They are very well made and sturdy. I haven’t had a single issue in that regard. Complaints I’ve read about weak seams or zippers are definitely not true for me. They breath, but are not extremely porous, so they keep my bread fresh without it getting stale or drying out. They are large. In a couple of my pictures you can see that I easily fit two loaves onto a single bag. I don’t do that, but I wanted to show it’s possible. The zipper is really not necessary as it’s really the rolling and buckling the end of the bag that seals it. I say that because a few of the complaints I read regarded the zipper failing. They claim to be machine washable, but I have not found it necessary and I don’t think I’d risk it. It’s so easy to shake out the crumbs and I’ve even turned them inside out at least once and wet wiped them. I’ve not had my bread mold in them and I’ve kept bread in them for up to two weeks. That said, I don’t even bag my bread until it’s 24 hours old and I refrigerate my bread after I bag it. Occasionally, if I know it will be a while before we consume it, I will freeze it. These bags are great for either. I have seen a few complaints of moisture build up in the bags and mold occurring. I have experienced neither. I believe my success is because I never bag my bread until the day after it’s been baked and after that, I store it in the refrigerator. Cons: None!

Buy these, not ziplock bags, you'll save money
Why did you pick this product vs others?: These have been by far the best bread bags. Have you ever used. It keeps our bread from drying out, it seems like it lasts a decent amount of time. I was tired of spending money on disposable ziplock bags. I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend it to anybody who does a lot of bread baking. I really like how you can zip it up. Roll it and snap it. You don't have to do this, but we like to. Heavy duty material. It seems to last a long time. I'm very easy to clean.

Reusable bread covering
Our family has been attempting to minimize our use of disposable items like a Ziploc bags. Because we make our own bread often, this has worked out as a good solution for our family. It fits our 1 and 1/2 to 2 lb size loaves of bread perfectly. I even store a muffins in them. I bought one set just to try it out and found that it's not exactly airtight seeing as there is a zipper. But the clip makes it handy for eliminating a lot of the air helping to keep the bread fresher. The folds in the bottom seam of the plastic can be hard to get dry. For now. What I do is I wash the bags and hang them by the plastic side on the clothesline then flip them and hang by the fabric. Generally speaking, it takes about 2 days for them to dry in our 80 to 100 plus summer days. I'm not sure how this will work out in the winter. I only wash my hand not by the machine. I am interested in purchasing more and seeing how they do in the freezer.

Good product
I’ve been using this for a little bit now, and it really does the job. My bread stays soft and fresh, and the zipper makes it quick and easy to open and close. I also love that I can just toss it in the washing machine when it needs cleaning. Simple, practical, and it works.

Handle was a little worn
This product kept the bread fresh. However, after you squeeze the air out to better fit the bread, the bag is not air tight. With the zipper closed you can squeeze air out. The handle strap was slightly frayed on a new bag. I like the reusable aspect.
