Good product
I'm really happy that I made this purchase. This product is top of the line and leaves a very clean work area when you do soldering with it. I purchased this because I'd run out of my regular brand so I decided to give this one a try and it actually is better than the one that I used to use. I would recommend this to anyone who does any soldering with PCB boards. Make sure you do have a clean flux cleaner.

Great quality! Like the ones my dad used to have 20 years ago!!
Once I opened the container, the smell told me all I need to know. Perfect quality! I was going to give up on my soldering Iron tip as I couldn't clean the oxidized at all. Tried different method, unsuccessful. This paste cleand it in a matter of seconds. Although it's not good for soldering tips, but sometimes I have to use it. Just keep in mind to keep your soldering iron tip covered with tin to prevent it from corrosion.

Perfect for desoldering
I love this stuff for desoldering through hole components. The synthetic and no clean fluxes on the market just aren’t penetrative enough when mixing unleaded with leaded for through hole desoldering work. This is the only stuff I trust that won’t have me overheating the PCB. Synthetic stuff is great for surface mount but you just can’t beat real Rosin flux for through hole! It does have the downside of having to clean it much more thoroughly but it’s worth it to not be battling different heat settings for different types of solder.

A very important ingredient to every solder joint.
I solder a lot of wires and connectors. Rarely to circuit boards. I would often have a hard time getting it hot enough for the solder to flow. Someone told me to use flux past on the wire and connector first. That makes it so much easier. Apply heat, and as soon as the paste starts to melt the solder flows right in. I have read some information about what flux paste does. Read for yourself. I just know that using it has made my soldering joints much quicker, neater, and more secure.

awesome, works very well.
this is a must have product if your doing soldering. the rosin flux in solder line is not enough for most things even properly cleaned solder pads will benefit greatly from some more flux. this may not look like a lot but I have made hundreds of connections and still have most of it left. pro tip wear gloves this stuff is messy, sticky and does wash off your hands very easily with hand soap. though dish soap takes it off pretty easily. use this stuff outside and with a fan blowing over your work as flux is toxic and builds up in your system. having a headache for days was not fun.

THIS FLUX IS SLIGHTLY CONDUCTIVE.
For most of my projects this flux worked fine. However, for smaller items the flux causes a bunch of 2-10MEG shorts where you use it. It is really bad for stripboard/perfboard because of this. You will need to clean it several times (5 to 10) to get the shorts to go away. If you are doing very fine work or working with sensitive components such as mosfets, i recommend going with a different brand.

Worth every penny!
Works great to remove & applying components with Hot Air & Iron. I also use it when I clean my Soldering Iron when tinning the tip so tin can cling on easily (keeps tip from wearing out fast). Every time I use it, I'm reminded of how glad I am to have purchased MG Chemicals 8342 Rosin.

I bought this after reading some other reviews that suggested this was great for electrical work. I've been away from hobby electronics for many years and i'm only just returning to it, so needed to stock up with some decent soldering accessories. Having read about rosin flux, I was expecting a vile, nasty product which creates a lot of fumes during use and stinks the house out. Really not the case with this product. Obviously you should never breathe solder/flux fumes anyway, but I really didn't notice any odours emanating from the flux, which makes it a pleasure to use. The consistency is as it should be, and I find it is easily applied to joints using small wooden coffee stirrers (they make great applicators!) Although i've only used it for soldering wire connections so far, my solder joints have been massively improved by this stuff. The solder flows easily and very quickly (I use 60/40 Tin/Lead solder) and leaves connections strong and shiny. I was a little surprised to find the tub only half full when opening it, but it is indeed 50g in weight. Not sure why they did this, but I guess there must be a reason why they didn't just fill the tub. That said, there is still plenty of product in the tub. For what i use it for, i'm not expecting to have to reorder any again any time soon. Highly recommended!
