Is your used gear certified?

Mine was. I looked it over before using it and didn't even have scratches yet. I think it was taken out of the box and returned.

If the weight difference is greater than 100lbs (I’m a big guy), can I use one of these on each of the first two bolts of the route?

A single ohm device on the first bolt should be sufficient. Adding a second device at the second bolt would be overkill. Practice using the device in a more controlled gym-like setting if possible. Start by taking practice falls in an overhang that is sufficiently high. That way if you get a hard catch you will minimize the potential for injury. Over time you and your belayer will become familiar with the subtleties involved in using this device. With practice it can work really well. My daughter uses one to belay me on hard overhung routes where getting quickly pulled up to the first bolt is a major safety concern. There is an eighty lbs weight difference between us. We have used both a Grigi and a tube-style belay device. Both have worked fine.

Can this be used with a Gri Gri?

Yes it can. It will work with any belaying device for lead climbing indoor or outdoor when there's a big weight difference between climbing partners
