Magnavox ZV450MW8 DVD Recorder and VCR Combo with Digital Tuner [Electronics]

Old school product hard to find.

Having really good luck with it sofar. I don't use it a lot but it seems to work great. I'm happy with it.

We (my wife and I) first purchased this equipment at Walmart in March 2008, and connected it to our LCD flat screen in the living-room. With more than 2 years of very satisfactory and reliable performance from this equiment, we decided to purchase another one, to accommodate a recently-purchased LCD, installed in our bed-room. We wanted, of course, this specific brand and model, but Walmart no longer had it in stock, and we could not find any store in our area, at the time, that had it. However, a friend recommended Amazon.com. In fact, we had never ordered from Amazon.com let alone heard about Amazon.com. We placed the order at OUTLET through Amazon.com and the equipment arrived within 6 days. We installed it, and, to our utmost satisfaction, it has been performing excellently. The 90-day warranty, provided by the seller, is evidence of their commitment to excellence, quality and professionalism. FIVE STARS (*****) for this equipment.

Seems to be a good product except the specs were not specific as it cannot be used directly with a TV without abox connection.The item's Digital Tuner does NOT work independently as most do. I thought that this one would according to whatI read in review of product.I cannot use it.I have no idea if sound quality is any good but ease of use isn't available as it does not do what I expected.

They sent us a player with a large rusted out area on the bottom and a defective remote. The player works, but it’s obvious it sat on a wet surface for some period of time. They sent us another remote, but it is also defective.We tested both remotes they sent, with brand new batteries. Neither works on the player. We finally ordered the same model remote from another seller and it worked, right out of the box. So it wasn’t a problem with the player or our batteries (as seller suggested). They sent us 2 defective remotes. The money we spent for the new remote was worth eliminating the continued hassle this has been.

The transaction went smooth as silk. I wish I could say the same for the unit. We've owned several Magnavox recorders over the years and this one is just cryptic. If you want to record on a DVD you should be in great shape since EVERYTHING is pushing you in that direction. Recording to a tape and playing it back is another story altogether! The manual is not as helpful as it might be. There are a few eccentricities to say the least. Overall, the unit is well worth the money. Just remember that patience is a virtue.

I couldn't be happier with this Magnavox DVD VCR Combo with Digital Tuner. I wanted a VCR/DVD with a tuner as like to record using an old fasion atenna. I just can't bring myself to pay for something that I can get for free. It works great both the VCR and the DVD and it's easy to use and has plenty of In and Out connections to hook-up to my other video and sound equipment. The only problem that I had was getting my universal remote to work on it (Couldn't find codes to program the remote) but, was able to program the remote doing the channel up thing until it worked for both the VCR and DVD mode. I've put it through much use and abuse and it has held up perfectly.
