Fray Bentos 'Classic' Steak & Kidney Pie 6 x 475g

Brought back memories of the ‘old country’ and really hit the spot! Delivery was stunningly fast, arrived on January 10th instead of the predicted January 27th - February 12th! Product exactly as described and great quality, probably better than the last I tried 10 years or so ago! My wife and I had this for breakfast today, and it set us up well for the rest of our day!

The pies taste good and have a great crust.

These now are nothing like the Fray Bentos Pies of old. The flavor bears no similarity, the gravy is tasteless, bland, a totally different flavor. The Pastry seemed different too, like mush, gloppy, no crispness at all, even though I've must've made a 100 of these over the many long years. Be warned.

Used to buy these over the counter many years ago at Pier One and other outlets. I love the flavor, always have, and now I haven't had one in a long time, and it will do this old man's heart good to dig into one again. The pies arrived quickly, and in perfect condition, securely wrapped. Made my day. Thanks!

Like Lamb flavor, companies and restaurants always try to erase the flavor of kidney too fearing returns from idiots. Put more kidney in these pies!! Stop marinating away all the lamby taste too.

I used to buy this pie at the store many years ago.was disappointed when they stopped selling them.Glad I found them again on amazon.They make a great meal Thanks

Did not ship 1/3 third increased meat pies as pictured in add and noted. Plus under shipped quantity Without commment. No indication of short shipment. Very misleading advertising on this product.

If you've had these before you don't need my review. If you haven't, try one. You won't be disappointed. Tasty, bags of filling, not too dry and excellent pastry. One minor packaging warning, hence four stars. If you have dexterity problems these are difficult to open. They are too big for the average "one touch" electric opener.

Soggy pastry lid covering tin of mostly gravy. A few tiny pieces of kidney. Nothing like the 1970 pies

This is really convenient. Just pop the can into the oven for 20-30 minutes and your meal is ready. But the important thing is that it tastes OK. And is consistent. 4 stars? Well, the taste and quality (especially the gravy) could be raised a notch to be 5. Though the postage hurts.

You have to ask yourself where is the filling. won't buy them again.
