American Lifetime Large Digital Clock for Seniors, Black, 8 inch, with Day & Date, Customizable Alarms, Auto-Dimming, Multi-Language Support, Battery Backup, Easy Setup, and Gift Option

This is a perfect size clock to have on my desk. It gives date, day, and time in bold letters. So convenient to have that info at a glance. I like the hourly chime, but it can be silenced. Setup was easy. It is worth the price.

Exactly what I was looking for in a digital LCD desk clock. Bought in 2019 & have had NO problems with it. I use it only for information, not for an alarms, messaged, etc. It is bright enough. Mine is currently set to display this information: MONDAY AFTERNOON 2:05 PM NOVEMBER 6, 2023. It is set to a black background with white characters. (The size of the font is not the same for all information but is sized appropriately.) Relatively easy to set once you have gone through the process a time or two. Electric power with battery back up. I was looking for a clock which has the information shown above & had passed over this clock several times because i didn't really know what it was. It is an 8 inch Digital LCD display. 8 inch is like a computer monitor measured from corner to corner of the screen. Unlike a monitor the entire display is not used, just that part which displays the characters but being 8 inches allows for larger characters. When I thought of digital in a clock I thought of the clocks with red LED characters--this is not that. When I thought of LCD in clocks I thought of my Casio Databank watch which has a gray background with black numerals but which needs an external light to see the characters at night--this is not that. This is like your LCD computer monitor but with a limited area, not the whole screen, for displaying the characters. There is a currently out of stock version at the one place I looked which is listed as extra large. I do not know if that is better or not--I have the 8 inch version & it is plenty big enough for me. I work nights as well as occasionally other shifts. When I wake up & look at a normal clock which shows 12 O'clock I am not sure if that is 12 noon or 12 midnight. Besides AM or PM this clock can be set to tell me whether it is Morning/ Noon/ Night. It can do different languages/ messages/ different colors/ etc. The characters are crystal clear, not fuzzy at all. This clock was designed to help keep on track people with dementia who do not have the necessary skills to know what is happening at that moment but it works Great for other people as well. This clock is so customizable that I could not begin to tell you all that it can do. Go online and look at American Lifetime Digital LCD clock, or other similar brands, and read through all of the things which it can do. It is not a $19.95 clock, coming in closer to the $50 range, but for all Useful things which it can do, it is a bargain. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CLOCK TO EVERYONE.

This product has been a real lifesaver for us. My wife's 84 year old mother would constantly ask us what day it was, what time it was, etc. This clock has returned to her a sense of independence, and has made life easier for us as well. Now she won’t stop telling us how much she loves this clock! I’m happy that this product exists today for folks like us who care for a family member with dementia. When purchasing it I didn't notice any extensive reviews on this item so I figured I would test my writing skills and give this a shot: Features: * You can place the Day Clock on a table using the pull out stand, or you can hang it on a wall using the dedicated hole in the back. * Alarm frequency options: 1) Once 2) Everyday 3) Weekdays 4) Weekends. * You can also set 5 separate alarms, and choose to include a medication message. When the the alarm rings you can let it ring for 50 seconds and then it'll turn off automatically, or press any of button to turn off. The alarm is pretty loud, enough for me to hear it from a different room. * When you open the settings menu these are the things that you can customize: 1) Set Time 2) Set Date 3) Time Mode 4) Date Mode 5) Language 6) Show Period Of The Day 7) Auto Dimming 8) Hourly Chime 9) Color Mode 10) Alarm Frequency 11) First Alarm 12) Second Alarm 13) Third Alarm 14) Fourth Alarm 15) Fifth Alarm. * You can choose one of these 3 options for the clock’s interface: 1) day of the week, time, date, period of the day (morning, afternoon, night, etc.) 2) day of the week, time, date, (no period of the day) 3) show only "Now It's Monday Morning", "Now It's Thursday Evening" etc. * An interesting option that the clock has is to change the lettering to a matte yellow instead of the brighter white. * Optional night dimming: the clock comes preset to automatically dim the screen every night from 7pm-7am, so that the brightness doesn't disturb your sleep, this option can be turned off. * Choose between regular time format and 24 hour time format (military time). Date format options: month/day/year (U.S) or day/month/year (European style). * The clock switches between 5 periods of the day: Morning 5:00am until 11:59am, Afternoon 12:00pm until 4:59pm, Evening 5:00pm until 7:59pm, Night 8:00pm until 11:59pm and Before Dawn 12:00am until 3:59am. * There are 5 different medication reminders messages that you can choose from, they vary according to the time of the day (Take Your Medication, Take Your Morning Medication, etc.). * The optional hourly chime rings on the hour for 8 seconds and you can choose from the following settings: 1) 9am-6pm 2) 24 hours 3) Do not ring. * The Day Clock comes standard in English, but also has the following languages: French, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Polish or Welsh. Specs: * The width of the Day Clock is 8 1/2 inches wide, the height is 7 inches, and the thickness is 1. The size of the day lettering is 1 inch tall and 0.5 inch wide, the size of the time lettering is 1.5 inches tall and 0.75 inches wide. Other considerations: * Packaging was really nice, if you're gifting this it will make an impression. I didn't notice any dementia or Alzheimer's wording in the packaging. * Comes with a 2 year warranty. Pros: * Clarity of the screen. This is the strongest feature of this clock, and it's what made me fall in love with it. The white letters are really sharp, which allows the information to be seen easily from across the room * Ease of use. This is a true Plug 'N Play Product, it worked straight out of the box. * U.S based customer service and warranty. Cons: * Price. At $49 this clock isn't cheap. I actually emailed the brand’s customer support about this, as it's double the price of a regular alarm clock, and they replied that the higher cost is due to the high quality screen component adding to the cost of manufacture. Fair enough, and I do hope they develop a way to manufacture it for less, maybe a cheaper version with a lesser quality screen might be something to consider.

Was so easy to set up and my mom loves it. The size is perfect. Easy to see day or night. You can hang it on the wall or it has a kickstand for table or dresser.

This was purchased for my uncle in his 90’s while he was living in a nursing home. He was a world war 2 veteran. He was able to see it from across the room. We have since used it since he passed away. Every month we have to reset the time as it speeds up about 15 minutes a month, every month. Some months a little more and some months a little less. Otherwise amazing clock

I actually purchased this clock for my Dad, who has Dementia. I really didn’t realize how much we were all going to love it! It was well packaged and arrived ahead of schedule. It has a battery backup (included) to be used if the power goes out but the main source is the AC cord. It is very easy to set the clock, day, month etc. Direction booklet is very straight forward. It can be either hung on the wall or on the back it has a little pull out stand that makes it like a picture frame sitting on a table. Very clear and bright at night or I think it has a dimming feature but I didn’t use it. Love that the screen stays black so that it isn’t your typical BLUE HUE throughout your whole house. I highly recommend this clock even just as your every day clock.

Mum was getting confused about time of day, what day it was ... no doubting the easy readability of the display it being placed next to the tv around 3m away! Only problem now, she doubts the validity of the display! LOL!
