Good vacuum
I bought this vacuum cleaner in December 2023 and it's still like new. The battery is still like new, I haven't noticed any deterioration in its condition. It vacuums very well, sucks up debris from the floor. Sometimes you just have to unclog the long tube because it gets clogged on wool carpets. But it's really excellent. Lightweight and, to my surprise, it doesn't wear out or break down at all, and the battery is, as you can see, very durable. It's a really good vacuum cleaner. And I've had a dozen or so of them over the last five years. The battery usually died after half a year of use. I will add that I use this vacuum cleaner every day since I bought it, sometimes shorter, sometimes longer, but every day I have an apartment, I don't have a house and I don't have pets, but I still think it's perfect for a large family like mine. It's useful for everyday use in the kitchen, dining room, hall.Today I recommended this vacuum cleaner to your friend and I hope that the battery has not lost its quality and that she will be as happy with this vacuum cleaner as I am.

The best stick vac for the money. Plus a nice hack if you need it.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: After trying several other vacuums, I ended up keeping this and purchasing a second one because not only do I have all the Black & Decker batteries already for backup, but this thing will vacuum up all of the things you never even knew were in your carpet and on your floor. It has a light in the front to help you see under underneath furniture and dark spaces like closets and hallways. It’s easy to empty and easy to remove the beater bar so that you can clean that periodically. It’s also super lightweight which I love. There’s just this one thing you need to know about the vacuuming of the carpets and the vac turning itself off….. that’s really the only reason that I’m even leaving this review is because I read other reviews and I thought oh those people just don’t know what they’re doing and now I have new carpets and it happened to me too! I was like, nope! so I found a way around it by gluing some items onto the bottom of the vacuum to create a little bit of additional airflow and small bit of height so that when I vacuum the carpets now it doesn’t get so suctioned into the surface and shut itself off… so take a look at the video and just know that if you have this problem, find a creative solution… this vacuum is worth it.

It’s not a Dyson, but…
No, it’s not a Dyson, but not a Dyson price either! I have a Dyson stick vac, but it just doesn’t last long enough to get everything done. I needed a second cordless stick vac, but couldn’t afford a second Dyson, so decided to give this a shot. So here it is compared to the Dyson: Not as much power - not even close. However, it picks up dirt & hair just fine in a single pass. Probably not going to do much on carpet except pick up the loose debris on top. Love the headlight! Dyson’s is skimpy in comparison! Lighter weight and better maneuverability than Dyson. Sweet rubber wheels roll effortlessly across the floor, leaving no tracks or scratches. Dyson has tiny plastic wheels that kind-of drag across the floor, and has felt guards that collect dust & hair that have to be cleaned off. Love, love, love that it stands up on its own. The Dyson has to be propped, and is constantly falling over, violently hitting the floor. Broken parts are very expensive to replace. Easy to change out batteries. I have several B&D batteries that fit, so it will just keep going! Dyson’s battery requires “installation” with a screwdriver, and no way to charge a battery without it being on the unit. Dyson gives me about 20 minutes. The long extension doesn’t release from the power head, so when using it as a hand vac, you’re limited to the 12” extension. Overall, I’m happy. It’s well worth the price. If you want more, you’re going to pay more.

Compatible with 18V/20V Max batteries
If you have carpet or thick rugs, this does not replace a powerful, corded vacuum. With that said... I think this vacuum is really worth its price. I would rather have 3 of these around the house than a single Dyson stick vacuum. The head on the Black+Decker is on the smaller size, but it has a nice flexible head that lets you steer it where needed. It can go completely flat to the ground and get under furniture better than a robot vacuum. I am not using the battery, but opted to add an adapter that lets me use my 18V Makita power tool batteries. The charger it can't with charges extremely slow, and the battery is only 2Ah, which is tiny. The vacuum motor is quite powerful and has a sensor when on the low setting and you're vacuuming carpet, it kicks up temporarily into the high setting, which I really like This vacuum has a nicely engineered collection bin that does an excellent job, even when nearly full. If you have hardwood or tile floors with a few short pile rugs, this vacuum is excellent! I've always thought Black+Decker brand to of the lowest quality, but I'm impressed. I mainly got this because it was 18V power tool battery compatible, like Makita 18V LXT, DeWalt 20V Max, or Milwaukee M18 with the addition of an adapter.

Debated between several cordless vacuums and ended up choosing this one, I love it. The battery lasts a really long time, it is not super noisy, and picks up everything and anything from the ground, super easy to clean the base and to clear the reservoir too. Very lightweight as well and the light at the end of the vacuum to see the floor is super helpful when cleaning dark spots.

I had a Dyson stick vacuum that cost a ridiculous amount that lasted for less than four years. I did love it initially, but now not the value for money. So I figured I might as well pay way less and see how this one goes! So far so good. This is more functional than a corded vacuum for what I need and is pretty easy to manage, but not quite as maneuverable as the Dyson was (although the low profile ability to reach under furniture is better). Also the B&D is not quite as light, but in the same ballpark. The canister is small, but not that much smaller than and is MUCH easier to empty compared to the Dyson. And if I notice the "sucking power" is lacking, emptying the canister (because like I said, small for some jobs) always fixes it right back up for me. The one thing I'll say is I am taking care to handle to plastic piece that releases then locks the canister back on with a delicate touch- read that some other users had worries about the longevity there. Also read that it's "need-hearing-protection loud"- for me, it is comparable to any other vacuum I've ever had and not at all a problem. And I love that the battery is interchangeable with other B&D products I already own so the battery life is a non-issue. I LOVE the light because it's so obvious what it is that you're trying to pick up. Bought it in March and if this vacuum lasts another 8-10 months, which I fully expect it to, it will already be better value than my Dyson was. (Disclaimer: got this for about $175 on sale)
