Hygloss Products - 61410 , Inc. Magnetic Tape, Self- Adhesive, 1/2-Inch x 120-Inch Black

I'm reviewing the 300'' roll of .5'' magnetic self-adhesive tape (I know the collection of reviews are for different types of magnetic products by Hygloss) This stuff works great! I used it to make magnetic filters for the vents on the sides and bottoms of my computer case and it stuck to it no problem. Because the roll comes so tightly rolled, you do have to roll it back a little before applying it so it comes back straight, but other than that I haven't had any problems. This is a little thicker than what I was expecting, which is good if you don't mind the thickness, because it adds a bit of extra magnetic hold. For the record as well, these strips WILL stick to one another if you put them together correctly (the poles are split between the top half and bottom half of the strip) though they do not stick together very strongly so be aware. Addressing some of the other reviews: 1.) The adhesive (at least for me) is comparable to that of the permanent double sided tape. This will not always stick to wood properly (especially bare wood) because adhesives like tape do not naturally stick well to these surfaces. If you can stick regular tape to it, you can stick this to it. 2.) I found the magnet strength of the strips to be more than substantial. It's thicker than most other magnetic tape, which means it will stick better than other thinner tapes. I read other reviews under the assumption that people are used to magnetic tape, however it appears that people are simply expecting the stripping to have the strength of a regular super strong magnet. For those of you who have worked with magnetic tape before, like me in elementary school, you understand that magnetic tape is never that strong. As far as magnetic tapes go, this stuff is great. Overall I'm completely satisfied with this stuff. I was hard-pressed to find this much of .5" magnetic tape anywhere and was hesitant based on the reviews, but this stuff is great. If you need it, definitely don't hesitate to order it!

The strip was strong enough for basic small projects like making fridge magnets etc. The key is to use enough to have a lot of surface area. The main reason I purchased this product was to attach it to an LED light strip and mount it via the magnet inside my PC. It worked perfectly for this purpose. However, the glue on the sticky side is extremely weak. The only reason it has worked well for me is because the LED strip I used also has a glue on the sticky side (also very weak). Together, the two glues hold together ok but I'm having to press them together again every once in a while. This product performs as expected and served my purpose. 4/5 stars seems appropriate.

I purchased this tape to help with decorating my truck for a parade. I was able to hang banners, posters and large cardboard stars on my truck using this magnetic tape. I had to decorate my truck and then drive to the parade line-up. It was windy and rainy and we had to hurry, so we had to drive faster than we wanted. This tape held everything on perfectly despite the wind and the speedy trip that took 1/2 hour. Nothing moved. During the parade, it began to rain and this tape continued to hold everything in place. It will not attach to anything other than steel- so if your hood and/or grill is made of fiberglass/plastic/something else- it will not attach. I would definitely recommend this product for light-mid weight objects. I did not use it for any heavy objects, but it had a great grip and great adhesive- so might work for heavier items. Easy to remove and left no damage or evidence that it had been on my truck! Loved it!

Less sticky than I would have liked and the magnetism is on the weak side

The adhesive of the magnet tape is crap. I was going to use it to put a do not disturb sign on my door. The sign is small 9" x 6" and weighs nothing. The magnet tape just peeled right off the sign by itself and dropped it to the ground. Great idea. Shotty product. They need to use a better adhesive.

I cut strips of this magnetic tape for the sections of my metal canning shelves. My marker doesn’t adhere to the white covering on the aggressive side of the tape so I put a bit of cellophane tape over the white covering and use a Sharpie to identify canned foods. Works great for me. (A silver Sharpie works directly on the magnetic material but this tape is sticky on one side. I prefer to be able to move my labels around whenever my inventory changes.)

Kinda crappy magnetic tape. It sure isn't very strong magnetically or physically. To hold tools, as it's intended to, seems to e a fool's game. For my application, creating a recognizably magnetized 2D line it failed completely. I'd use it for the whole tool holder function, if the magnetization was stronger. As it is now, we used it hit each other when re-enacting wild-west themed plays or science fiction dramas.

I'm a teacher and mom so I use this often. It works great for making cute crafts for the fridge. Anything ypu want to make magnetic.. bam done lol I have an endless supply because I am always using it. It sticks great and easy to use, good price too.
