Got the DM2 because I needed some inline gain for my SM7b. The main thing I was looking for was something with a lot of gain and the lowest possible self noise, for which the DM2 delivers on both ends. It's amazing... when it works. Unfortunately this requires phantom power to work, which in itself is to be expected, but the reason I'm dropping two stars from this review and saying "when" it works is because in some occasions even if I provide phantom power, it doesn't work. This is especially the case for wireless XLR transmitters -- they all work with condenser microphones (48V phantom power required), but doesn't work there. Also had occasional drop-outs on the H6 when on battery. Maybe I got a faulty device, not sure, but if you're looking to use this in some kind of wireless setup, I don't recommend it -- but with a solid DAW like the Rodecaster Pro 2, it will work fine -- but at that point, you won't need it. So, bottom line, I "kind of" recommend this product.

Product is really good. I dont write reviews for any products i buy but this is really worth it and I thought my review will help someone decide. I have behringer xm8500 with Audient id4. Sound was very low as the gain from id4 was 58db max. This really increased the volume to more that what is required. I keep 15db in tnt and adjust in id4 to the level i need. If you have a dynamic mic and audio interface with 48v and gain is low, then you can get it.

The Dynamite Active In-line Mic Preamp with Selectable Gain and Impedance is a game-changer for audio recording. Its selectable settings allow for tailored sound, while its sturdy build and portability make it versatile for studio or live use. It delivers clear, transparent sound with minimal noise or distortion, running on phantom power or batteries for added convenience. Highly recommended for musicians, content creators, and audio enthusiasts.

the mic amp gain is low on presonus studio 24c for a dynamic mic SM58. so i had to purchase this and it did the trick. Better option would be to purchase a powerful audio interface or a condensor mic.

Have only been able to try this out in a practice session so far. Initial Sound Desk feedback is a big tick. Using with a low output flute mic.
