These headphone stopped working in one month and one day (just outside of the returns window). They were used every day during that period but were not treated poorly.The sound quality when they did work was fine, although there was some noise from the cables rubbing against clothing

I'm a huge fan of these headphones and have purchased probably 7 pairs over the last few years. So I'll start this review by saying the lifespan of these headphones, if you use them everyday and are generally rough on your things (like I am), you'll get 6 months-1 year out of one pair. Not bad for $20-25 in my opinion.Typical failures I've experienced with this product include earbuds coming off and getting lost (you can buy replacements online for cheap), and the earbud housing separating (fixed in 60 seconds with a dab of superglue).Beyond these basic build-quality concerns, the reason I keep buying these headphones is because of a) affordability, b) fit and feel, and c) sound quality. On those counts, the JVC XX earbuds are top-notch. Deep, bassy and with strong treble leaves electronic, hiphop, and rock music sounding nearly as good as in my car, which has a premium audio system. There is some loss in the midrange but it's generally not noticeable to the untrained ear.In terms of fit and feel, I wear these running, on planes, while riding my bike, etc and the fit and noise cancelling feature is fantastic. Even with screaming babies on a 4 hour flight, I throw these on with some low-volume white noise and can sleep like a baby. The rubber earbuds generally stay in during exercise as well.Highly recommend!

I bought these headphones for my hubby when his old ones died. I listened to them once and was SO JEALOUS of these headphones, I can't even tell you. Not for the styling - these go a little too far into the ear for my personal taste. But the sound was so good compared to my junky old headphones that came with my phone.So I ordered a pair for myself and I was really excited to have such excellent sound. Can we get personal for a minute here? Sometimes I watch TV shows on my phone while I dry my hair. Look, drying my hair is SO BORING. So I watch a show while I'm standing there. And I have to have headphones, because...well, a hair dryer is loud, man. You just can't hear anything.Well, my normal headphones are tinny and harsh. God forbid an explosion happens in the show, because I'm already listening too loud for my own good and with that kind of noise, my ears will be toast. I mean, seriously. Ouch. (Yeah, I know, don't be dumb with your hearing, yadda yadda) But when I tried my husband's headphones, man, the bass was amazing. I was really impressed. I thought, "I'll never be miserable with my hair dryer TV viewing again!"I bought these and I was so excited, but they arrived with the cable pulled out of the microphone and didn't work properly. Boooo. So I sent them back. And now I'm back to my old ones, because while they are tinny and harsh, they're pretty sturdy.With these headphones, you have to ask: is sound quality more important than ruggedness? If so, these are awesome. The sound is great for the price, and if you're watching TV while you dry your hair, your ears won't hurt nearly as much as mine do. But if you want something thats a bit more rugged, you might need to choose something else.

Arrived on time and in perfect condition.The headphones themselves are great quality, especially for the price. Good, clear bass, blocks out noise well. The controls are easy to use, and the microphone works well for phone calls. They stay in when you're running or exercising, and it's easy to find the lime green cord in the depths of a purse or backpack.This is my fourth time buying this particular pair of headphones (The previous three that I had purchased were broken/lost by me, and had nothing to do with the quality of the product - the first pair I had, I stepped on an earbud in steel toe boots, the second I dropped off the side of a canoe, and the last were destroyed when I was shoveling snow too enthusiastically and the cord caught on the handle.)So, if you need good quality headphones at a decent price, these are the best!
