Solid maul, splits well and the handle holds up better than oak. Ergonomic grip, nice head shape that splits harder and faster. More splits per hit ratio on this guy for sure. Would recommend! Granted the picture shows it was used to split a ~10” birch trunk, so yeah it does that well too. This is for the 36” handle 4.5lb maul. I did sharpen it up a bit before use, as I would with any axe/hatchet after purchase

Great ax! Good weight and super sharp out of the box. Has a nice blade cover that snaps on when not in use. The handle is the right diameter and fits my hand well. Happy so far but it wore me out and made me realize that I an not in the shape I used to be 40 years ago

This is a seriously sturdy axe! It's nice and long and heavy duty. My husband loves using it! He is 6 foot tall, and this handle is long enough that it's a comfortable swing. It's weighty enough that it makes good impact.

Good grip on handle, even in cold of alaska. No troubles in -40 temps of head n handle breaking like other splitters I've bought over the years.
