It's a brand new product in the original packaging - what's there to complain about?!
This is in full retail product packaging, with all manuals and installation guides. Derailleurs are a pain in the butt to install, but they're less of a pain when they have all the proper installation guide stickers still on them. This derailleur works great, has less resistance on shifts than the older 3500 series part, and I'm perfectly happy with it. Just be careful when installing it - the black paint scratches VERY EASILY, and the set screw that spaces it out from the seat tube - I made the mistake of taking that screw out completely during installation, and upon trying to re-thread it, it could never find the threads properly, so I basically had to drive it through until it threaded itself. Not ideal, but the derailleur works properly, and the set screw is still able to do its job, too. Recommended.

Got it to work.
Not best fit for 40year old bike but looks sturdy enough. Should last a while.

Not impressed.
I recently purchased new Shimano brifters to replace my old Tiagra set. During my research I had found many accounts stating that my old front derailleur wouldn't perform correctly with the new brifters. It was for this reason I purchased this Sora front derailleur. As it turns out, the old Tiagra derailleur works fine with the new brifters. Since I had purchased the Sora, and had it, I decided I would swap it out. I thought it would be an improvement. It was not an improvement. I ended up putting the old derailleur back on. It was far easier to set up and I got it working in a fraction of the time that to took to set the new one up. It also seems to perform much better. To be fair, a more experienced bike mechanic could probably get the Sora working fine. Actually, I could probably get it to work, but it will take more time than I'm willing to spend right now. I'll keep it as a backup.

It's a 9 speed double front derailleur
I bought this as a replacement for one that split on top. The one it is replacing is the same Sora FD-R3000 derailleur that split after 3,000 miles. I'll give it 3 stars because I don't know how long it will last based on the original. If it never breaks it would be a five star but that remains to be seen. I have had issues in the past with other Shimano front derailleurs breaking also.
