3170 Ceramic Fiber Paper, Size 11" x 12" 3 Sheets, Thickness 1/32". High Temperature Insulation Gasket or Liner for Kiln Stove Furnace Glass Fusing

I needed new gaskets for my pellet stove. These sheets were the perfect raw material. I cut them to the size I needed, and it was much cheaper to buy these sheets instead of a gasket kit from the manufacturer. They resist the exhaust heat just fine.

Used to set glass blocks on in kiln when firing on glass paints and frit. Used couple times to 1225F, so far great. Don't paint with kiln wash, that stuck to glass block but was removable. Ceramic fiber paper allows glass to cool faster as it is not sitting directly on kiln shelf.

This is the only gasket that doesn't burn out in a few days for my Englander wood pellet stove behind the burn pot

Nice to work with, but not suitable for the hot face of a melting furnace. I had this as a barrier between the elements and the crucible, and it smoked and charred any time the elements came on. The elements were 25mm away from this product. I also had it lining the lid, which also degraded rapidly. It seems the 2300F rating is overly optimistic, I was only running the furnace at 1500f
