The original taste is not enticing, but it's easily disguised and there's a definite increase in energy shortly after taking it.It dissolves easily and doesn't upset the digestion. A quality product at a modest price.

I tried Amla with sweetened drinks but it did not taste that great. I tried it with just plain water and it actually tastes really good. Very lemony and refreshing. The good: My A1C dropped 0.6 points in 2 months and that was just using half a scoop a couple of times a week. I slowly increased my intake to a full scoop once a day. The bad: Due to the high Vitamin C content, it can cause acid reflux. Try drinking it in the morning with lots of water. What to look out for: Watch your water intake because Amla can cause you to become dehydrated. Drink lots of water. In the beginning Amla definitely resulted in more bathroom trips but my body appears to have adjusted to it now. I've read that you need to be careful if you are already taking blood pressure medicine as it can also lower your blood pressure. Ditto for if you're taking blood sugar meds or are hypoglycemic as it can lower your blood sugar. Start by using smaller amounts, eat after you take it and check for any unexpected effects. Like any supplement be really careful if you are already taking meds or already have low blood pressure or are hypoglycemic. Make sure you read the literature about Amla and don't just rely on reviews. 12/23/18 I stopped taking Amla because the high acid content was causing acid reflux. A happy surprise was discovering that I could still lower my A1C and lose weight by removing artificial sweeteners from my diet. Apparently sweeteners damage the microbiomes in your gut. Through mechanisms still not well understood a varied microbiome is essential for losing weight. I eat lots of whole grains, veggies and fruit but sweeteners undermined that effort. I've lost over 20lbs since cutting artificial sweeteners out of my diet. My A1C is now back in normal range. If you can't tolerate Amla because of reflux consider not using sweeteners instead. Amla did start the process of lowering my A1C so I'd use it again if acid reflux was not a factor.

This was recommended by my doctor. This was suggested to reduce LDL, triglycerides and general cholesterol levels. It is also raises HDL levels. The reported mechanism is similar to that of statin drugs. Just note the taste by itself is bitter. It is not horrible, but would suggest mixing it with juice or adding to a smoothie. My doctor suggested 0.5 gram 2X/day. Unlike some of the other claims, these results have been documented in double-blind studies. Similar results to Bergamot oranges and berberine.

I was worried this might taste horrible (after all the negative flavor reviews), but the flavor is barely anything. Even a heaping spoonful in a 32oz mason jar, is barely zesty/citrusy in the most subtle way. It does have a chalky pucker up texture about it, but something I could easily drink daily! Add some lemon juice, mix with other green powders, or add it to oats, etc and it would be like it's not even there. If you're buying for the health, do not be scared by the flavor!!
