Children's joke book age 5-12 Review: Good way to drive parents crazy! - This book is perfect if you're a grandparent and you want to drive your kids insane and make your grandchild happy. I bought this for my grandson who is really getting into reading. The happy bonus for me is he's driving his parents nuts reading them joke after joke. It's the same as hyping them up on sugar and sending them home or giving them the toys with lots of sound. Only this way you can ensure they are reading and not playing on a video game system, which is always my goal. He really seemed to enjoy it and I got a good laugh watching it play out at my house. Review: Lots of Fun for Kids of All Ages ! - I gave this book to my 6 year old granddaughter, Katie, when we picked her up from school. At first she was a little sad because she could not read all the words but Grandpa and I reassured her she would be able to read it all very soon. We read it together on the ride home and she laughed and laughed! She likes to try and figure out the answer to the riddles herself and does not want you to tell her the ans. too quickly. Her favorite riddle is "what has 4 wheels and flies?" Ans.: you will have to buy the book! Now Katie is having fun entertaining the whole family and her friends with her new jokes and riddles . Lots of fun for everybody. We highly recommend this book.

My 10 year old thought the majority of the jokes were "Lame!"**UPDATE**She now loves it!
I got this based on all the positive reviews thinking I could up my humor credibility with my 10 year old daughter. Making a game out of it complete with silly voices, I started reading to see whether she or her mom would laugh first. I quickly determined this was not a hit. I guess my other halves aren't silly enough for this silly humor. The majority of the jokes were met with either a straight face, eye roll, or "Lame!" The only reason I give this 3 stars is because I found it mildly entertaining and witty. I guess I have the sense of humor of a 5 year old. ***UPDATE*** I had to update my review from 3 to 5 stars because recently, my now almost 11 year old daughter made us guess the punchline to these jokes for over an hour. I told her about my initial review, and she said, "You cannot not like this book because it's so stupid." There you have it... she now finds it entertaining.

My kids love this book
My kids love this book. Are some of the jokes a little cheese? Sure. Are there good ones in there too? Yep. Some even made me chuckle. My kids will learn them and go tell their friends. My daughter is 7 and loves most of the jokes. My son is almost 9 and has Aspbergers (High functionifm autism) and so sometimes he doesn’t get jokes or what might be considered a joke. He has memorized some jokes from this book and goes to school and tells his classmates. It makes him feel good knowing how to make people laugh now.

Parenting win
My 5 y.o. adores this book. He likes the jokes although he doesnt understand most of them but it works out because he is reading pages and pages and I get to fake laugh at lots of jokes and I am very happy that he volunteers to read to me. this book is a parenting win! The randomly dispersed simple pictures does add interest to the book and helps to engage him a little more. He doesnt know all the words so I help from time to time but overall it is simple enough for him to read which was my intention when purchasing this book

Great book for budding reader who enjoys telling jokes!
My daughter has really been into telling jokes lately, unfortunately most of the "kids jokes" we looked up online were all the same, so I took a shot and got her this book for Christmas, hoping there would be some different stuff. We weren't disappointed! She was also 6yrs old and really getting into the enjoyment of reading, so having her own book to flip through and read jokes to people is doubly awesome. Its been about 5 months and she still reads it fairly regularly, the poor book is beaten and battered at this point, she takes it along on a lot of outings and weekends away. Its definitely a hit, will probably buy others.

Lots of repeats and ghost & witch jokes
Sorry, just a lot of them don't make sense to a 6 year old. There are many repeats and the book is filled with ghost and witch jokes. It's not something that I wanted to discover when reading this to my son at bedtime when he's already afraid of the dark. I did like how the jokes were spaced on the page. There's a lot of white-space between the jokes so that it's easy to read for kids and adults. A suggestion would be to, perhaps, organize the jokes into chapters. Say, a chapter on animal jokes. A chapter on fruit and vegetable-themed jokes and a chapter on doctor-patient jokes. I'm looking for another book. I just can't read this more than once. The good thing about joke books is that it may give your shy child something to break the ice when meeting new adults or other new children. My son is initially shy, but given the arsenal of a few good silly jokes, allows him to try them out on new adults and children and builds a bit of rapport right from the start. It also encourages your child to want to read more and memorize new jokes for this same purpose.

I bought this book to give me material for jokes to include in the notes I write to be included in kids' lunch boxes. It's perfect! Silly just like kids. I hope they laugh out loud. I am happy and it's well worth the purchase price. Besides that, I chuckle when I write a joke on a little card for a child. The children who get these cards range from kindergarten to grade 8. Thanks Silly Willy!
