VIDEO Smooth, quiet, robust, and it just simply works well
Got this a couple months back and have to say I love everything about it. I looked at lots of less expensive options but after lots of research and reading tons of reviews I am so glad I spent a little more and settled on the quality and features of this product. The amount of weight it can support and how smooth as silk the lift mechanism operates is impressive. The controller mounts directly under the desktop and allows you to manually position the desk using the up and down buttons with 1/10th inch increments. You can store up to four heights in separate buttons which is really nice and very easy to setup. I love to show this unit off to people coming over. I was a little surprised at the weight of the legs being so beefy but was really glad it is so robust after attaching it to my 7 foot long solid wood desktop that weighs just under 100 pounds. I wanted to combine a high quality desk top to match the high quality of these legs. I got an unfinished 8 ft. kitchen counter-top made of american walnut solid wood made in butcher block design from my local lumber liquidators and cut it down to a seven foot length. I love the look of the finished wood which is like a piece of art work in the office and motivates me to keep the desktop clean. This makes my wife happy since the desktop was a premium upgrade. These legs can support over 300 pounds so adding my large 4K monitor using a customized clamp mount. Love the ability to store 4 settings. I am 6'1" tall so the extra high settings of this model compared to their standard version made this product perfect all around for me. Highly recommend. I wanted to use a keyboard shelf to keep the desktop clean. 14" Keyboard Slide -Heavy Duty Steel Construction Very pleased with this purchase! but specifically was looking for a product that would fit my Evoluent vertical mouse and this keyboard slide worked out perfect! The high quality construction, the very smooth ball bearing operation of the slides and the firm locking action for both the open and close positions of the keyboard drawer exceeded my expectations. I used this large mouse pad to cover the entire drawer to give it a consistent look and a great workable mouse surface. PECHAM Extended Gaming Mouse Pad - Non-Slip Water-Resistant Rubber Base Cloth Computer Mouse Mat, 30.71x11.81-Inch 3mm Thick XX-Large - Black The keyboard shelf itself was standard plywood but then finished it off with a matching front facing of walnut wood strip to match the butcher block desktop. Desk Cable Organizer Tray 36" by WireRun I used this wire tray to manage the cables under the standing desk and it worked excellent to clean up the wiring clutter in addition to this cable wrap system Kootek 118" Cable Management Sleeves, Neoprene Cable Organizer Wrap Flexible Cord Cover Wire Hider Reversible Black & White, Cuttable by Yourself for TV Computer Office Theater

I was a bit worried about this purchase ...
Wow. Just.... wow. This piece of equipment has saved my life. Ok, that was a bit much... but I have a new job that requires me to spend hours per day on a computer. I get stiff and feel lazy if I sit for 4-5 straight hours. Now I work about 2/3 of the time siting, and 1/3 standing, and I feel great. I was a bit worried about this purchase - several people I work with have made bad purchases in this category. I read EVERY online review and article on this topic and chose this one. I have now had it for a few months and it has been, in a word, PERFECT. I made a small mistake in the setup process and made one call to customer support. They were excellent. I am so mad at myself for not remembering who I spoke to... but she was great. Talked me through the correction, and even called back to make sure that everything worked well in the end. The setup was not difficult. Everything is very sturdy and extremely well constructed. I need a big desk, so I am literally using a wooden door as my desktop. Works perfectly. It rises and falls smoothly, quietly and quickly. You can pre-set four heights, or move the desk randomly up and down. The desk frame is attractive and kind of minimalist. There is not much to see unless the desk is at standing height. I have gotten a hundred comments on how sharp it looks, which is honestly something that I could care less about. It is strong and sturdy. There is no shaking AT ALL - even at the highest setting (it might help that I have some heavy equipment on top). First time I have ever wished for a sixth star in the Amazon rating system.

Review for the Desk Fame and Experiences in Installing a Hardwood Table Top
The desk frame is very good. It is very solid and quite when moving. It's great to have the memory settings for different heights. This is considerably an improvement to many of the existing adjustable height standing frames since at least many high tech companies don't have the desks with memory settings (those desks may easily cost more than $2500). Like many reviews, the downside of the frame is it wobbles when raised to a standing height. The wobble is gone at a sitting height, so it is not a problem to me. The customer service is great and very responsive. With a 7-year warranty, there is not much to go wrong with the purchase. I also wanna share my experience with the table top. Many of the buyers of this desk frame use door slabs or cheap table tops available in Homedepot and Ikea. This is certainly one of the best choices because it is very economic and easy to be installed with wood screws provided by the desk frame package. And you can change the top whenever you want. But for me, I chose to use a walnut hardwood table top. I bought it from a lumber company. Using a hardwood top is not recommended because of the expensiveness and the great amount of time taken. It may be possible to find a cheaper hardwood top from the flea market. If you choose to use a hardwood top, wood screws are not ideal since they may limit the times the top can be disassembled from the frame. I used threaded inserts and M5 machine screws. The threaded inserts can be easily purchased from amazon. But be careful when installing it. Definitely check out the the reviews under the threaded inserts for the tips such as using a slightly larger drill for the threaded inserts. Here are my experiences for your reference. 1. Use a smaller drill that fits the holes on the desk frame for drilling pilot holes. This is very important because the error-tolerance of assembling the top and the frame is very low. 2. Use a 27/64 drill for the holes for the M5 threaded inserts of which the package suggest a 3/8-inch drill. You may do some experiments to find out the best size of the drill. For me, the 27/64 is the best to protect the wood, allow easy insertion of the inserts, and provide enough tightness between the inserts and the wood. 3. To insert the threaded insert, do not use a flat screwdriver for insertion. Instead use a longer M5 screw with two nuts. There is a video teaching how to use it when googling threaded inserts. The video uses a machine screwdriver. In my experience, it is better to use a hexhead M5x50mm screw and use a nut driver to put the threaded inserts in the hole. This way is easier to control the direction of the threaded inserts (ideally we want to make it straight into the hole which is often not very easy lol) and is superb when you wanna get the inserts out by using the technique taught in the video. Always do a lot of experiments with spared wood before you really do it on your table top. Installing the hardwood top this way needs a lot of efforts but is very rewarding. In the end, I got a gorgeous desk which I hope to use for 10+ years.
