Make sure you manage your expectations. The mat is not made by Olfa and the Knife is not an Xacto. But you're paying a fraction of the cost. So if you're looking for something serviceable for the occasional project, this will more than suffice. The knife surprisingly held up well with some light plastic shaving work. The mat itself for me is the real star of the show as it is much thicker than I expected and will protect my solid wood desk from nicks and scratches.
