Do not hesitate to purchase theseto but make sure you give them enough room to breathe. Originally i had them in a small sealed box and they just wouldn’t hit. I bought the skar ported box for under the bench seat in my Silverado and they came alive. I actually had to lower the bass a bit not because they couldn’t handle it, but because they were over powering my interiors. I have them wired at 2 ohms paired with a cheap 1000w pyramid amp. And they hit high and low bass perfectly. The CT sounds customer service is one of the best. Almost immediate answering and they actually care to help. I will be buying the amps from them to power my subs and interiors soon.

I received two Tropo 8" subwoofers fast and clean. They are worth the price. They have a high fs at 50 hrz which im not real fond of. I have built two different slot ported boxes for them so far. The first is 1.5 cubic feet net with a 40 hrz tuning. The 2nd is 1.5 cubic feet with a 30 hrz tuning. At 40 hrz anything below 40 dropped off quickly. Bass at 30 hrz was non existent. At 30 the bass at 30 hrz was still pretty quiet. Bass box pro shows a huge spike no matter how I modeled these subs and couldn't even get close to a flat response. These sub do offer a real good punch above 40 hrz. The only negative is that who ever assembled the subs were inconsistent. The dust cap and the push termenals were off in alignment. To mount the subs with the logo flat the screw holes were not uniform so that just looks bad. All in all they are at least worth the price asked. Update: I finally ended up with 2 cubs tuned to 28 hrtz and satisfied. Descent bass around 28 to 50 and solid power handling. Still 4 stars for the dust caps not being straight with the mounting holes. The subs just look too good for this minor cosmetic mistake.

Awesome little speaker!!! I would buy again and again! I originally tried to push this speaker with an old school Phoenix Gold M25 but that amp couldn't handle this speaker at two ohms. Ordered CT Sounds T-300 Monoblock and was very impressed. I am running just one of these speakers in my car in a small sealed box. I installed this Speaker and Amp combo in a 1995 Eagle Talon. I also installed two sets of CT Sounds 6.5" Strato Coaxial speakers in the same car. The Strato speakers are running off of a JVC Deck and sound amazing. This system is one of the best sounding systems that I have had at any price point. It is only a matter of time before CT Sounds becomes known for quality and then their price will increase. Buy their stuff now while it is cheap!!! I also have ordered 2 sets of Strato 5.25" component speakers for my Cab-over camper and those were my first exposure to CT Sounds. The 5.25" components sounded so good that I decided to buy more of their products. I can now say that I am a big fan!!!!
