One very nice ‘budget’ knife
I bought this knife after making a list of the must-have specs and features I wanted in an EDC, and this one checked all the boxes. I have enough other ‘super steel’ knives; all I needed from this one was something good enough, and 14C28N is exactly that. Having just received it, this knife is about as perfect an EDC as I could want. Size and weight, blade shape, just what I was looking for. Action and lockup are smooth and solid. Blade is hair-splitting sharp and flipper action was flawless right out of the box - snappy with just enough resistance to flip open easily. No lock stick, no wobbles in any direction. The lightly textured micarta handle provides plenty of grip without being rough on pocket material. I cannot find a single thing to pick about. It’s easily as good as any knife I have costing many times more.

QSP Hawk is stout
This QSP Hawk is really nice. Value is on par or even exceeds the money. I got the burlap micarta version which i really like the look and texture. Blade opens smoothly via flipper or thumb studs. Blade came scary sharp. It's solidly built, but it's also a little hefty. The liners are not skeletonized. The pocket clip screws are not countersunk. This knife is great. Previous reviews knocked on the blade bending or the steel being soft. First, don't use knives as prybars. Second, 14C28N steel will bend instead of chipping or snapping. It's not a super steel so it won't hold an edge as long as very hard steels, hence "soft", but it's not. That's the characteristics of the type of steel, not a reflection of the company. I'm really impressed with QSP knives so far.

What a great knife for the money!
The quality, precision and ergonomics of this knife are better than knives costing double. The blade steel is superb, with a razor sharp factory edge. The "burlap micarta" handle scales have just the right amount of grip and are very beautiful and very unusual. The knife is just the right weight and size for every day carry, and the flipper opener works very nicely and smooth. Get one!

Mine and really bad lock stick upon arrival worked out with a little bit of pivot oil, thankfully
This is a fantastic knife. I was just unfortunate to receive first and second one with really bad lock stick thankfully I was able to remedy this my how do you oil to the pivot and a little bit of oil to the walk face which is normally not recommended, but in this case, manage to fix a bigger problem, this will not affect my opinion of QSP because this is a very rare occurrence for their products I own many of their other products, and they always come in great condition and quality every time this just so happen to be a first. I would still highly recommend this knife to anyone, especially at its price point and the materials that it’s made out of. I just hope that this will help if anybody else receives one in the same condition.

Good budget knife, soft steel....
This was my first QSP purchase, after reading a lot of hype about the Penguin. Initial impressions: looks good, feels good, nice micarta scales. On the other hand, all the steel has the same satin finish that feels a bit slippery (i.e. when operating the liner lock or using the thumb studs). After about a week of ownership, I decided to take the Hawk to work. I was cutting some unused feeder conduits out of a concrete slab, and used the knife to pry (yes, a cardinal sin) the almost-cut PVC pipe, breaking it free. The tip of the knife didn't like this. I can't complain so much, as I know knives aren't typically meant for these kind of tasks. All the same, I was pretty disappointed at how easily the blade tip bent. After all, it was only plastic. Personally, I don't foresee myself purchasing this brand again.

amazing, sharp, and well built knife
Amazing quality knife as always, I've written a review on another QSP knife and it was also amazing. They hold an edge perfectly and are sharp out of the box but a little sharpening doesn't hurt at all. The blade on my first QSP and this one have held up perfectly even in high humidity with 0 rust on them. It opens smoothly every single time. I cannot recommend QSP enough as a company. These American knife companies have gotten lazy and greedy and just charge more for a lesser product, Get a more affordable better built knife with love put into it, them being from china doesn't bother me one bit so much love QSP and keep making great knives!
