This is the first time I have ever used any home security products and bought this based on my son's experience, which has been very positive. Very happy I did as it is simplicity itself to set up and seems to be extremely effective at letting me know when someone is at my front door. The camera itself seems well made and delivers a crisp exterior image to my phone, whether I am home or away. It was easy to set up, simply charge it, download the Ring app and and follow the instructions within the app to pair the camera, then site it where you want. I put mine just to the side of my front door and about 4 feet off the ground as suggested and it provides me with a very wide angle of view each side and ahead, so anyone approaching or walking on my path is detected and I am alerted. I have found this to be surprisingly reassuring, as well as making sure I don't miss parcel deliveries etc. I also purchased the chime, which pairs with the camera and plugs in anywhere there is a socket, to alert me to a caller at the door. It has plenty of ring tones to suit all tastes and is quite unobtrusive. The Ring app was easy to download on my iPhone and works well. I can set it to alert me whether I am home or away. Apparently it is possible to record a message to play when someone calls, but I have not investigated that as I don't need that feature. If someone comes to the front door, I can go into the app and click to see a video of who it was and in the case of the postman, where he left a parcel when I was no at home. I can also check outside via a 'live' feed at any point. All in all, I am very impressed with how easily everything functions together and provides me with the security and ability to see callers and visitors. I am now considering adding a wireless outdoor camera for the garden. As such, I have scored this 10/10 and if you are considering adding some home security, start with this. I don't think it will disappoint.

This is really easy to set up and fit to your wall, you don't have to pay for the additional subscription to be able to view a selection of back dated videos but if you want to store and save videos then you do have to pay for a subscription. I haven't and don't feel you need it. The picture quality in daytime and nigh time is great. You can zoom in and out and turn your phone on it's side and it gives a wider angle too. the sound quality for the recordings and when speaking to people is good and I like the fact that you can set up the scanning zone so it's not going off if people walk past but that it can watch over your car too. Great piece of kit

YES RING! We bought this as there were some kids in the neighbour kicking doors, the second we installed this it stopped for us at least. Really clear recording lots of options for parcel detection and perimeter setting - great item and I really don't know why it took us this long to buy one! Even the Police recommended Ring to us! Such a good brand

Works well but looks shoddy - outer ‘shell’ or cover has eroded very quickly and looks quickly shabby and much much older than it actually is. Apart from that it works and functions well. Battery life is good.

There really is nothing better on the market. This works seamlessly with alexa, we bought it with an echo pop but it plays on all alexa enabled devices when the doorbell is pressed, it even shows up on the TV and you can talk via alexa, somewhat lazy but extremely convenient if your in a busy home or work from home. The camera is superb, night vision and two-way audio. That is the kind of details you would expect from a security camera not a doorbell. The audio is crystal clear, although the volume settings definitely need adjusting, neighbours have made some comments about being able to hear conversations across the street when we havent been in 😂 This is great for battery life, easy to charge when it's running low on power and wireless, so once it's connected to the WiFi and up, its good to go, currently its been on almost 2 weeks without needing a charge and its been continuously abused by our kids. Although it does require setting up and connecting to the wifi, you dont need to be tech savvy in anyway, its extremely easy using the app, which works flawlessly everytime for me, the settings arent endless and its fairly simple to get it working just how you like it. We currently have the grinch ring on, which our kids take extreme delight constantly pressing it and leaving messages for us while at work lol Absolute bargain at £49.99 that was for 2nd Gen doorbell and a Echo Pop Alexa speaker, honestly cant recommend this enough, youll wonder why you never had one earlier.

Doorbell was brilliant to start with then the weather got into it and it stopped working. Ring replaced it free of charge for a better model. I can’t fault their customer service.

The camera itself is great, and while I begrudge buying the item itself to have to buy a subscription as well, I cannot begrudge the products themselves. I must say if you think this style looks more appealing it does wear very quickly especially in rainy Britain, and especially if you live by the sea. The metal on this style degrades and rusts very quickly, but of course the plastic elements are much more durable so if I were to purchase again I would get the fully plastic version. It’s easy to install according to my father, though if you have no experience drilling into brick I think it may be tricky.
