Helpful to have around camp or in car
Our scouting group wanted a shovel for digging fire pits and removing hot coal and ash. For the price, this is a great shovel. Not what we use for backpacking (we have Coghlan trowels for 'cat holes') but great for base camp use. Have held up well and fold up easy enough to fit into our gear box. Sturdy handle and shaft allow you to put some weight into digging and allow to carry some weight easily. I have been impressed with this tool and likely will acquire 2 for the family to keep in our cars in emergency. They are small and will be out of the way when folded and stored in the trunk.

Versatile and compact
Great shovel to keep in car. Used it to chip away ice, dig out plants, and set edging around my garden beds. Not a bad tool to keep in the car.

Very small, well built
Four stars because this shovel is deceptively small. That actually works well for me as I use it to move coals around for my dutch oven.If I were actually digging, I would go for a bigger shovel.

Oh, Yeah!
This is a nice shovel. It's very sturdy and compact. There is a knob just under the flat part of the shovel. Just open the shovel, unfold it, spin that knob to tighten it up and you're good to go. The shovel won't fold up on you, possibly injuring you. It looks like it has a saw on the left side of the shovel blade. Not sure how much use it will get, though. The pick is nice to break up the ground to make it more manageable. Its folds up to be surprisingly small, and fits into a handy carrying case. You can even attach it to your belt for easier access. I'm very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend this shovel to everyone. Oh, yeah!

Super durable and well built. Easy to break down and store since it's small. We used it for our back packing trip and got great use from it. A must have for any hunter, camper, outdoorsmen!

A little smaller than expected
It looked like the one I previously owned which was purchased at Wally World. After leaving that at a campsite, I found this one on line. This one is smaller. But it did the job of tending the campfire for the scout troop this weekend. It came in with a couple chips on the paint of the clutch but not worth worrying about
