SUPER ITEM!
A Really Good Item:..... OK This Drive Was Bought To Replace An Earlier Drive That Died!..... Now I am 'No Stranger' to SSD Drives as I had San Disk Models both in my New Laptop And now also until it went out in my Dell Desktop!..... As i was looking over possible replacements i felt some disappointment that the Earlier drive had went out after just 3 years. So i thought perhaps i was better off to try a different make as i admit as a Writer and Published Author I'm demanding in my needs and truly i spend a LOT of time on the computer !..... So i surfed and checked out Different Models but for one reason or another the drives I saw weren't what i needed, Or were way too pricey.etc!!!!!. So here on Amazon I spotted the ACER drive and i was instantly interested as..... It was just UNDER 1000gig. It wasn't too large!. And the price was really reasonable!..... See the Drive i had was a 500 and i wanted/needed a bigger drive but many of the newer drives were over 1000 and id read where some computers had trouble recognizing them. So this Drive definitely fit the bill!.. Plus i had Acer Products before, As the Best Laptop I'd ever owned was an ACER and it was top quality!. Frankly I didn't know they made Solid State Drives, But knowing their quality I was instantly interested. LIKES: Famed and Reliable Brand!. Just The Right Size. A Really Good Price. It Met The Need!. Fast Amazon Shipping Is Always A Winner!. DISLIKES: Nothing Major!... Just Wished i Knew They Made SSD Before!. Nothing much left to tell as Installation in Modern Computers is largely Plug and Play!. I just slipped it in the vacant slot ,And 2 small screws held it firmly!. All i really had to do was pop in my Operating Disk and install the O.S. System and i was good to go!. Installation went perfectly, My Computer instantly recognized the New Drive and i was up and running!. TO CLOSE: Acer makes a good product!. And Amazon has the best goodies!. Nuff Said: IndianaED

Speeds boot-up by 80%!
Wife complained that she grew weary waiting for her 2016 I-7 laptop to boot up Windows 10. Decided on this Acer SATA III as the most cost-effective brand-name SATA only option for speeding up the process with this older but still excellent machine. After cloning her hard drive data to the Acer solid state HD, installing the Acer was just a matter of opening a plastic panel, slipping out the original hard drive and plugging in the Acer - which fit perfectly. Boot up with the new SSD is now a cheap thrill, only about 15 seconds. Wife is very happy with results. Drive has performed perfectly so far. A great buy in the 1TB (or nearly so) choices.

Easy install, but a few things a newbie needs to know
I bought this SATA SSD as I recently purchased an Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-32DK Slim Laptop for my wife, but she found the 128 GB of storage too small for all her pictures and videos. I purchased this Acer SA100 960GB SATA III 2.5 Inch Internal SSD to give her over a 1TB of combined storage space. Acer conveniently has an unused extra internal bay and includes pre-installed connectors to the main board making installation very easy. If it’s your first time, like me, don’t worry, it’s really pretty easy. Find some of the good videos that are out there and follow along. There are, however, a few things you need to know. The enclosed documentation is of no value for installation, which makes sense as this drive can be used in multiple devices so they couldn't possibly cover them all. Apparently, there are a few different ways Acer set up the extra bay that may not exactly match the videos you might find. For example, you want to disconnect the battery first thing after getting the back off the laptop. The connector type shown in one of the videos did not exactly match the connector on my laptop, but I was able to figure it out. Additionally, the videos showed that you had to connect the cable to the main board and the other to an additional connector and attach it to the SATA drive. In my laptop, the cable was already connected to the main board, and the connector for the SATA drive was already on the other end, so all I had to do was push the connector into the SATA drive and mount it. The connector only attaches one way, so look at the connector and it will be obvious how it had to be oriented to fully engage to the drive. It comes with 4 screws to mount the drive to the bracket and you use the screws you took out to remove the bracket to put it back in. It will only mount one way, so be careful to reinstall it with the same orientation it was when you removed it. One other issue I ran into was that videos said as soon as it’s powered up, it will recognize the new drive and it will be available, or, it never mentioned first power up at all. At first, I thought I had incorrectly installed the drive, or something was defective, so I called a PC expert friend, and he told me I needed to go to “Computer Management”, then “Disk Management” to initialize the drive. I did that, saw the new drive as “Disk 0”. I right clicked on the drive, selected “New simple Volume” and followed the prompts to name the drive volume.(see pictures). I now see the new drive in File Explorer and it works fine and my wife can store about 41,000 pictures on her new laptop.

Made my Dell laptop run real fast.
I should have done this sooner. My laptop would take up to a minute to load Windows then sometimes more than that to load Edge start page. My laptop now runs as a new one, and I am satisfied with the performance. Fortunately, the cloning software worked fine after a 2nd try. Using the manual settings rather than automatic worked for me because of the difference in the sizes of the drive. 1 Terabyte vs 960 mb. Give your older HDD laptop new life and install one of these solid state drives, well worth the money.

Fast and easy install!
I wanted another disk drive for more storage. This SSD was the answer. I ordered the install kit so I could just slide it in my computer empty slot. Plugged it in and my computer loaded it automatically and it worked as it was supposed to. I am using it to store pictures and videos and have a back up for my important stuff. Works great! Acer products are always the way to go for me!

Cheap, fast storage on sale
I'll say right up front that I only use Samsung, WD or Crucial SSDs in my primary systems, but this Acer is for my brothers old Win10 PC and should be more than adequate until he replaces it in a year or two. I caught it on sale for $40 during a Prime Sale, which is a screaming deal. However, be aware that this is a barebones drive - no tray, no cables - just some mounting screws. The so-called User Manual in the box is worthless - sadly the PDF version on their web site is identical. However, their web site offers a few tips on setting up the drive a limited FAQ. I'll echo the review of Robin Adair that this is a raw drive and that you'll need to go into the Windows Disk Management utility to initialize and format the drive to make it visible in Windows File Explorer. However, you don't need to do this step if you are going to "clone" and existing hard drive. If you download and use their version of the Acronis TrueImage software, it will detect the uninitialized drive and automatically make it the target of your cloning operation. Again, this is a cheap low-end drive for your home PC - not a screamer for your gaming rig (which is kitted out with NVMe - right?-) Use it to add storage to a system that's nearly full or to speed up an older PC by cloning the boot drive and you'll be happy.
