It doesnt. It has a rocker lock which basically is a little switch that slides behind the lockbar to ensure it doesnt fail. Its still a solid knife with a great and functional design. But i wouldnt put it in the same league as Tri-Ad locks.

1inch wide not quite as wide as a Recon. Recon Is 1 1/4 wide thickness about the same on both
