The Gourmet Kitchen: Recipes from the Creator of Savory Simple

Jennifer is immensely talented and I am delighted to have a copy of her gorgeous book for my collection. The photos are enticing, the recipes are accessible, and the flavors are fresh and interesting. It's a perfect book for someone who knows their way around the kitchen but needs a little kick in the pants to be more inspired. It's also wonderfully well written and is the sort of book you want to curl up with and thumb through on a Sunday afternoon. It will have you licking your chops and eager to get cooking.I also purchased a copy to give my stepmother as a Christmas gift. I know she's going to be thrilled.And cauliflower bacon soup makes me very happy!

So in love with this book! I've made the Black Bean Tortilla Casserole, a really easy casserole that makes a super filling dinner or an appetizer for a crowd. My whole family loved it! I also made the Oatmeal Stout Beer Bread. All I can say is…throw away any other beer bread recipe you've got…this one is incredible. It's got a buttery, crunchy crust that will make you swoon. The book is filled with gorgeous images for each recipe. Can't wait to cook more of Jennifer's recipes!

I like this book because it offers great recipes; they are good and good for us. We're able to make dishes which are interesting enough to offer to guests and attractive enough for any table. These recipes are also fairly simple. Farley's commentary offers a confidence boost and encourages the cook to dive right in--regardless of how long or complicated the recipe is.

All of the recipes I've tried are great - easy to follow instructions with a photo of the finished dish. We made the asparagus lasagna for a dinner party last weekend and it was a hit. If you're looking for recipes with complex flavors that aren't unnecessarily complicated, this is a perfect option. I'm glad I picked it up!

This book is beautiful and the text is easy to follow. The photographs are truly stunning. I've only tried one recipe and it was delicious. Can't wait to try them all! After a year, I thought I should update my review. I've now tried SEVERAL recipes and each one was fabulous. Ms. Farley is a brilliant teacher as well as a great cook!
