Due to arthritis I often sprain my hand, fingers or thumbs. If you use for 6 weeks, faithfully, you can repair properly!

I’ve been having a pain where my thumb meets my wrist for over a month now and of course doctors can find nothing wrong. So I decided to do some research on thumb pain and though I am in no way a doctor, I decided to buy a splint to see if I mobilizing my wrist and the MV would help. I read many reviews on many products and decided to give this one a try. For the most part, I like it. But let’s be honest, wearing a splint is never comfortable. But I do like all the adjustable straps to make this splint the most comfortable that I can for me. Sometimes it slips and my hand gets sore where the top Velcro strap goes. It rubs sometimes and then I have to un Velcro all the straps and put it on again with my hand in the correct position. The thumb strap gets loose pretty easy and then my thumb moves too much and I feel pain again but I just need to retighten the thumb strap. Nothing will hold my wrist and thumb in place constantly but a cast, and this I can at least take off to give my hand a rest so it’s better than a cast. I’d give this brace/splint a try if you are having issues with your thumb. It’s pretty good for the price and does seem to be helping. I even sleep with it on.

I’ve tried at least 5 other braces and this is the best one. The others were either not supportive enough or were very uncomfortable. I have a small wrist and I am in between a small and medium for this brace. The medium fit me best. However, like many others, the straps were too long and there was not another female Velcro strip to keep the straps down. I was walking around with the straps just flapping everywhere. Solution. I bought some no sew - fabric adhesive Velcro strips on Amazon for under $4. I added this to the brace and it was a total game changer. The straps are now neatly cinched down. This brace is very comfortable. It has padding and the main advantage is having three straps for different adjustability. I was able to adjust it to where the webbing of my hand was not in pain as other braces did. I have worn this a couple of weeks and I wash it in the sink and air dry. No issues yet. My doctor said I have to wear this 6 weeks and I’m already feeling better!

This brace seems to be well designed, but it falls short if a few key areas The metal splint from the under wrist to the palm is done well to help immobilize that area of your wrist. Unfortunately the thumb wrap, whether firm or loose creates pressure in the wrong spot which makes your thumb numb for extended periods after wearing. Also, if you need to tighten the wrist then that is easy with velcro, but the very annoying part is that the mating velcro part is short, so unless the brace is a perfect fit, you will have these annoying velcro straps hanging out from your wrist for an inch or more. It appears that they were trying to create a smooth resting point on the pinky side for contact with a desk, etc., but the lack of velcro extension is much more needed.
