Great pull up bar!
This was the cheaper of the two pull up bar options with Prime shipping. I took a chance on it despite the lack of any reviews and I am quite pleased I did! The unit showed up quickly and with all of it's hardware. Assembly was super easy and straight forward. I used some socket wrenches and a drill to drill some pilot holes into my floor joist. The unit is very stout and quite easily holds my 195 pounds up from the floor joist above. Build quality is a 10/10, especially at this price point. The foam on the grips is nice and durable, the end caps are solid and the welds are quality. I also enjoy that the ends are not bent too far down like some other pull up bars. The ergonomics are much more ideal for your wrist position when doing wide grip pull ups. Great addition to my small little home gym and definitely worth saving some funds in comparison to the other options on here. Thanks Iron Core!

An in-home exercise essential.
CV19 has forced me into the basement to work out. (I so miss the gym.) There are just so many exercises one can do with resistance bands and if you are focused on body weight routines....you have to have a pull up bar. The pull up bar is essential for chin ups and hanging core exercises. (I was doing these hanging from the basement rafters, but that was taking its toll on my hands and giving me a case of golfer's elbow.) Got the Iron Core pull up bar and installed it in a few hours....I'm easily distracted. Oh, so nice! Easily assembled and installed, very sturdy mounting and built to handle much more weight than I can possible put against it. Oh, and the padded handles are so comfortable. I'm now doing chin ups and hanging leg lifts until blue in the face....really. No more sore hands and the golfer's elbow has completely gone away.

The pull-up bar feels sturdy and strong, but the included hardware was severely corroded!
Upon removing the pull up bar from the box I could tell that it was durable and made from thick materials. The black finish was very nice and even, and the foam pads are comfortable to grip. The assembly was straightforward, but the included screws, bolts and washers were a complete disaster. Not only did the hardware feel cheap, but it was also very corroded as though it sat under salt water for a couple months before being packed and shipped. Ultimately, the hardware still worked, and the threads were salvageable. There were also some minor alignment issues when bolting the two pull-up bar halves together as the holes were not drilled and tapped in the right locations. This resulted in a minor twist in the bar but that was rectified by bolting it to my joist. To install the pull-up bar on my joist with the included, excessively long, lag bolts, I had to double the thickness of my joist by “sandwiching” couple 2x4s with wood screws. I weigh 185lbs and have used this a couple times already - there is no creaking, or concerns that it will ever come down. Feels incredibly solid!

Great addition to my home gym
I hung this up and have used it a lot. It's very sturdy and the bands provide resistance for some good low impact work.

Solid and versatile
At my 72 year old age the great equalizers are squats, pullups, pushups, and running. They keep me in shape so I can climb trees bowhunting, jump in and out of a canoe wade fishing the coastal marshes, and shoot my 60 pound recurve no problem. With Covid and the gym closures I decided to get a few pieces of equipment, and the pull up bar was one. This thing is rock solid and has a number of different grip options. For the price and sturdyness it gets it a 5. I saw some complaints on the mounting; don't worry about that. You are going to need a drill and a 3/8" ratchet to bolt this in. It comes with a small wrench; throw it away. All tools in "some assembly required" kits are worthless so I did not mark this bar down on that account. With this conviently mounted under the porch its just takes seconds to run down and build those shoulders and arms. We are all going to be old sometime, but we don't have to be weaklings.

A rock solid piece of equipment for a fair price.
First off, I wasn't compensated or given a discount for my opinion. I'm not a serial reviewer either. Buy this chinup bar. I rated it a four for ease of assembly since other people had some difficulty and I did have to remove a few bolts and replace with others. If you pay attention you'll see some of the washers are smaller than others, for example. No instructions, but should be easy enough for someone with basic know how- for example, the lock washers go between the head of the bolt and the flat washers. There really aren't too many ways you could do it, not sure why that was a challenge for some people. When I put it together, it wasn't perfectly flat as someone else indicated in their review. I gave it a twist and it straightened out, not hard. As far as sturdiness goes, I was pleasantly surprised by the weight, they did not skimp on material. I think people who expressed concerns about sturdiness had installation issues. I selected an area where my basement joists were doubled up so I could utilize the full length of the bolts provided. I started with just the lower bolt on each side and it was rock solid. I weigh around 205 and it didn't move with just the two. I used the other ones for good measure since I had them. I'm pretty sure the degree of sturdiness depends on how solid whatever you mount it to is. Mine will only move if the house collapses. I also like that it is low enough so my head doesn't hit the ceiling at the top of the movement. The height worked out perfectly for me, I can still walk under it, but it's low enough that I can do a little jump at the start of each rep to get a little assistance and then lift my legs to use full weight for the negatives. Love the multiple grip options. I have no concerns that my kids, who can break just about anything, will be using it. A huge leap forward from the doorframe chinup bar we've been using.

Good product, however two screws were missing from the kit. Consequently, I can't properly fix the front handles.
