Previously had an OPTIMA yellow top that worked for me for over 10 years, didn't give me any issues up to the point it could no longer hold a charge. But given I had that battery for longer than most people own their cars, I was extremely impressed with it...so much so, I decided to replace it with another OPTIMA battery! The red top may not be able to handle as deep a current drain (the yellow tops are deep cycle batteries), but I never really needed that capacity and a red top suits my application just fine...I just want the reliability and performance that I could count on in the cold freezing Canadian winters! My yellow top never let me down, and I expect the red top to perform just as well!

The last Optima Red Top battery I bought lasted me 10 years and I was very upset when it was "accidentally" traded in with a vehicle it wasn't supposed to be in. If that hadn't happened maybe it could have still been going I don't know... MAYBE IT STILL IS !!!!! I'm going to be completely honest here, when the DieHard I had in my pickup AS THE REPLACEMENT FOR MY RED TOP THE DIEHARD DIED VERY EASILY as in LESS THAN 3 YEARS. What absolute junk AND it was nearly $200.00 !!!!! If I can stress anything here PLEASE DO NOT BUY A CHEAP BATTERY. You always get what you pay for, I bought junk I got junk don't make my mistake. I will take a KILLER battery and cheap jumper cables ANY DAY over a cheap battery and a expensive jump box. ANY DAY.
