I was not prepared for how impressed I am with this product. I do not typically write reviews but felt it important to acknowledge this as a home run! From the videos I saw, the product looked like a potentially good solution, but after having it in my hands, the high quality of the materials for Busy Box Sign are much better than I was anticipating. Busy Box Sign is heavy duty and well-constructed. From the minute I started unboxing, I could tell that I was getting much more than I expected. I was a bit intimidated about how I would “program” my Busy Box Sign and use with my phone. Busy Box Sign is very user friendly (even for those of us who had to put an effort into learning how to use a smartphone). Here’s where the story starts to take a turn. I am not using Busy Box Sign at home, but at the office. In an effort to try to reinvigorate face to face collaborative efforts, we have been keeping doors open as much as possible. Even with the door partially shut, employees are encouraged to walk-in, again trying to reunite the team. While this is bringing us back to working in groups, it has made my individual workload get bogged down. I needed something to indicate to the team that despite the fact I want to be open, there are times, I just need to power through in order to bring a task to completion. Busy Box Sign is the answer. It really is working well! I am most surprised by how people immediately respected my “boundary”. When the sign indicated BUSY, people who would have simply walked in, took a step back acknowledging my need to complete a task! Busy Box Sign is an easy to use, high quality, team energizing tool! Many people have admired and are now setting up their own Busy Box Sign to keep our group open, but productive. Everything from packaging, quality of the Busy Box Sign, ease of set up and well-done tutorials has exceeded my expectations. Thank you Busy Box Sign!

I was undecided on getting this product based on some of the good and bad reviews on Amazon. After using for a short while now I can say it’s really helped my home situation. It’s built really well and is working great with my kids. Interruptions have basically gone away. As a software developer, I feel compelled to point out to those who think this product is overpriced, you’re missing a huge point (in my very biased opinion). It has WiFi, Bluetooth, two apps and server integrations ... all for free. Software is expensive to maintain and it’s a cost that needs to be taken into consideration when you buy the product that is connected if you want to keep the unit in operation and up-to-date, so I think the price is fine. I hate buying products where after owning it for 6 months the company stops updating the software, so the hardware becomes useless. I want my tech to keep operating even when iOS and Android do updates and this product has gotten regular updates for over a year according to the Apple store. And I’d much rather pay a bit more for the hardware now than get nickel- and-dimed for software updates every time Apple or Android make a change. They are doing a good job in my “expert” opinion. I like the product, my family really likes it, and have no qualms recommending it to other developers and WFH parents.

Too expensive and has to constantly be charged. There are cheaper, better options.

I bought the BusyBox Smart Sign to let my family know when I’m on a work call at home, and I have to say, the idea behind it is brilliant. The sign is highly visible, and I love the variety of messages it offers. It definitely does the job of catching attention and helps avoid interruptions. The app is easy to use, allowing you to adjust colors and brightness, but I sometimes wish I could simply push a button on the device itself to turn it on or off, instead of needing to go through my phone. It would also be great to have an option to set a timer, since I often forget to turn it off. A low battery notification would be another nice feature, so I’m not caught off guard when it needs recharging. Overall, it’s a solid product that I would recommend for remote workers, but it is on the pricey side for what it offers. With a few tweaks, it could be even better.

I got this unit for my husband who has been working from home since his company allowed him to work from home. He has it on his office door and now I know when it’s ok to enter his office if I need to grab something off the printer or if I just want to let him know I’m heading out and where I’m going. He put the app on his phone and said it was easy even though he’s not very techie. He uses the app and the buttons on the side. If you live with someone who is working at home more now, this is a great option for something that looks nice and does what it is made for.

Very easy to use. I work from home and it has been very helpful during video conference calls to let my wife know that I am in a meeting. She used to poke her head in the door to check but now she simply sees the BusyBox status. I just need to remember to turn it off when the call is over. I love that I can control it via an app. The only issue we had was remedied very quickly by customer service: when we first charged it up we could not shut it off. Customer service sent a link to a video showing how to reset, then update the firmware to permanently overcome the issue. My only design complaint is that apparently the cover needs to be removed in order to charge.

I was looking for a sign that I could turn on via my phone to let my roommates know when I was in a meeting. I chose BusyBox because of its Bluetooth connectivity and its promise of a world of color. I was not disappointed. LOVE my BusyBox. My favorite way to illustrate I’m on a call is the “ON THE AIR” marker with a shimmering rainbow effect. I did experience a technical issue roughly 2 months into owning the BusyBox. I tried to reset it via the website instructions and reached out to Support when that failed. They sent me a new BusyBox within 2 business days. I’ve been using the replacement box for 3 or 4 months now and it’s working flawlessly with 1+ hours of (work)daily use. I highly recommend the BusyBox. Not only is it cute and flashy, the customer service is top notch. The BusyBox has a lifetime warranty and they truly honor it.

Connectivity has been an issue. I have to charge nearly every day and. Have just stopped using it. Waste of money.
