Quality/design issues
This hood replaces a 20-year-old, builder-grade hood. So yes, this is definitely an upgrade. Installation was easy because an experienced carpenter did the work. However, the instructions lacked some clarity, such as it did not have a detailed parts list and the template was not as exact as it should have been. The look of this hood is definitely modern and fits right in with the stainless steel appliances that are so popular today. However, the top, front of the hood that sits under my cabinet is warped and on the left side, there is a gap. I may try caulking the space. I also find the fact that there are two lights one on the left and right, are much dimmer than traditional bulbs. Perhaps, putting three bulbs equally spaced would have been better.I was torn between 3 and 4 stars. The hood is definitely an upgrade and it looks great. It is also very quiet even when both fans are running. The filters go right in the dishwasher so nothing to buy. All of this is worth 4 stars. However, the warped section and the very dim lighting left me feeling 3 stars is most appropriate.

Sleek. Arrived with some damage. May be less expensive name brand options
Mine arrived with a bit of damage. One of the fan covers came loose during transit, and the clips that hold it into place got bent. All the pieces are covered in film, so all the visible parts were protected. I decided that anything that was scratched was not visible, so I didn't report the issue. There is no point returning something this large for a small issue. I straightened the bent clips with plyers, did another inspection, and decided it was good to go.What I love about this is that it's low profile, and a very sleek modern look that's also very versatile. This is ONLY for outdoor venting, there is no option for indoor venting. So it has to be installed against an exterior wall. There is really not much to this, it's very simplistic. There are two fans that move quite a bit of air. The control panel is just some push buttons - low/medium/high fan, and lights. The fans move 400 CFM, which is pretty good compared to the 30" models I was researching at the hardware store. The average seems to be 230-375 CFM, with the most popular models offering 320 CFM. So this moves about 20% more air than your typical range. However, these fans aren't what I would call quite. They don't squeak or anything, but they're not quiet. When selling our previous house, I wanted a range hood with all the bells and whistles, for curb appeal. But when choosing a range hood for our current house, I have a completely different approach LOL. I want something plain and simple, just push button controls, nothing digital, nothing fancy, because my primary concern is that it's maintenance free.I was very thankful for the detailed template included with this, makes install much easier. One thing to consider, though - the vent hole is not adjustable, so if it doesn't line up with your previous exhaust, it may require some retrofitting. One final note on value: I don't think $269 is necessarily out of line for a price, and I like it just fine so I'm not going to balk too much. But realize you're getting a fairly unknown generic brand here, whereas I see plenty of name brand options at the hardware store for $100-$200. So shop around before making a decision.

Decent van excellent construction looks fantastic little bit noisy
Construction feels solid the stainless looks fantastic the lights work fine I had no problems installing it it is a little bit noisy but it is accurate I took off my sound meter it is right around 65 to 75 decibels I'm thinking there's a resonance going on here which I might be able to correct with some dampening I live in a relatively cheap mobile home that's probably part of the problem so I'm going to install some rubber feet at key points to help dampen it to the wooden cabinetsOverall I'm very pleased it looks fantastic and is one heck of an upgrade for my kitchen

Very nice
This hood looks amazing in my kitchen and functions just as well. easy to install just know where your studs are. biggest part was electrical so make sure you seek professional help if you are not already wired for a hood or microwave above your stove. Venting is next so do your research and plan ahead before getting started. as long as you have a plan it installs quickly and easily, 3 power levels of fan and the light directly over your cooking service makes this a valuable addition to any kitchen. i have gone years with out one and i am very happy to have one again especially this hood since it is really nice and feels like a higher end unit that it is.
