Chef Tested Grill by Montgomery Ward Love this grill! THE GOOD Grill Delivery: Grill arrived very sturdily packed with all parts included (Box 18”x18”x12” deep with parts wrapped in plastic and packed in molded styrofoam). Grill Assembly: Enclosed booklet contained easy step by step assembly instructions with diagrams listing all parts It’s very easy to assemble in about 10 minutes. All you need is a screwdriver. (Note: 2 Pedestal sections are metal; 5 pedestal legs are sturdy plastic reinforced with a metal bracket; drip tray and bracket are metal; lid is metal; lid hook is metal; grill is metal with plastic feet; other parts are plastic, Bakelite, or rubber). The Temperature Control Is Bakelite and metal and has a lever to make removal easy. Grill Use: Grill can be used indoors by removing it from pedestal but I use a B&D contact grill with removable grids indoors and purchased the Chef Tested grill specifically for outdoor use so all comments apply to outdoor use only. Though lid hook allows you to hang lid off of grill plate I find it more convenient to set it on cast aluminum side table. Grill is basically smokeless and heats up fast and cools down quickly. Assembled grill on 12 Jun 21 and cooked dinner 4 times within 7 days. Meals included strip loin steak, minute steaks, shrimp, scallops, boneless country style ribs with sauce, caramelized onions, mushrooms, potatoes, asparagus, French green beans, egg, and pears. The griddle portion of the grill plate is terrific for frying minute steaks, eggs, and veggies! Grill Cleanup & Care: Unplug it and after it cools just lift off grill plate and clean it in your sink. (Tip: Use a rubber mat in bottom of sink to protect both sink and grill plate). A soapy sponge can be used to wipe down handles, lid, condiment tray, and any other soiled parts outdoors. THE BAD Assembly: The grill came with a washer not included in assembly instructions. Decided to use it on inside of lid under the screw and hook. Was concerned that hook could possibly slip off of very small manufacturer supplied screw so also put a small washer on top of hook (from personal supply). Grill Cleanup & Care: Manufacturer/supplier should have included a nylon or hard silicone scraper designed to specifically fit the grill grids to help clean any stuck on cooking residue. THE UGLY The feet on the base of the grill plate fit into 4 sockets. When removing the grill plate to clean it the rubber “shock absorbers” can pull out of the sockets. They can be popped back into the sockets easily but be very careful not to lose them when you lift off the grill plate. Some reengineering needed here! ADDITIONAL TIP: If you need a grill cover I can recommend a waterproof heavy duty cover that is a perfect fit for the Chef Tested Grill by Montgomery Ward: Grisun Round Grill Cover 19.5"(Dia) 32"(Tall)

Quickly heated up and was very easy to clean. I like to clean my grill after each use - no scrubbing needed - just remove the grill plate and rinse off in sink.

I bought it for my son. Apartment doesn't allow gas grills. He loves this. Works as good as a gas grill. Clean up is easy.

Vey disappointed. Never will buy from Montgomery Ward again. The item did not work for us, and yet you want us to pay to ship it back. And since it is bulky, it would be expensive for us to ship back.

Moved into a condo where gas and coal are not allowed. I downsized and love my new place but was sad I couldn't have my Weber grill. The price was great on this. I love that you can clean the grate. It takes up hardly any room Very easy cleanup. My photos start from beginning, to add cheese , the last one was cleanup. Crazy easy. If you're in my position, this is the grill you need! Now order and enjoy !
