excellent product, easy to use and pretty fool proof

Seems to work fine. Not sure on real accuracy but close enough.

Very simple and easy to use. Just point and pull the trigger. You have to make sure your about 30cm away to get an accurate reading. I have used this to check my BBQ temps and also my hot tub temp and it is correct to within 2%. It is really convenient to have around although its worth noting that it cannot measure core body temp accurately.

The unit is lightweight and a bit plastic but sturdy enough and functions well. The manual is pretty awful but sufficient. However, the important part - temperature sensing - seems pretty good. It measured a matt off-white plaster wall at 10.5C next to the wall-mounted thermostat showing 11C, showed 97C on a boiled kettle of water with emissivity correction enabled for the shinier surface, and on the matt black of a wood burner gave 271C when the stove thermometer was reading 280C. The spot ratio is 12:1 so at 12 inches, the spot measured is supposed to be 1 inch diameter around the laser positioning dot - testing this over mixed surfaces and differences, it seemed to be an accurate enough description. Getting in closer excluded surrounding areas at different temperatures e.g. edge of a house radiator by a colder wall. The emissivity choice is limited (two settings) and whether you use it or not is a bit of a guess, but overall this unit when new with fresh batteries gives quick readings, is easy to use and appears to give reasonably accurate readings.

Absolute bargain. I bought this to replace a more expensive one that came with a pizza oven after it went missing (thanks kids!). This works really well, straight out of the box. Now I just need to find a genius place to hide it so it lasts as long as it feels like it will.

I bought this to check food temperature. I now find useful for checking radiators, fridge and freezers. The laser is a useful way to identify the target temperature. Good value for money

You tap the trigger it gives a snapshot reading of the surface you are pointed at with the laser dot. Hold the trigger down and it gives you real time reading. So for example you can turn up or turn down the heat as your food items hit the oil in the deep fat fryer. It turns itself off when you are finished with it. I don't know about accuracy, but it matches air temperatures when I point it near room thermometers. Bought for cooking. This is the end of shoving chopsticks in oil to guess temperature.
