I assume all the paraffin oil/lamp oil products are about the same; I have no experience with any of them. I bought Dietz lamps, wick, and oil for when the electricity goes out long term. The price on this product for six gallons was the best at the time. It wasn't packed as poorly as some Amazon shipments, but still inadequate. The six plastic bottles were in a box loose, but at least they were snug enough that none could get sideways. That box was then loose in a slightly larger box. Although the gallon bottles are pretty tough one still got creased and leaked just a little bit. Considering it shipped to Alaska, that's not too bad.

We load a very, very old hurricane kerosene lamp with this oil. It's got a nice whitish flame, no discernible scent or smoke can be scene. Lasts a good long time. Compared to competitors, this is a well priced product and I will continue to buy it.

put 3 gals of this in my survival kit along with 2 indoor lanterns and 3 outdoor lanterns
