Rich, Smoky & Complex
I received Robert Piguet:’Insomnia Eau de Parfum Unisex from the Amazon Vine Review program. I was excited to try this premium scent with the underlying primary scent of cedarwood, with notes of plum, bergamot, fir balm, Iris, Oud (not sure what that is…), and Tonka absolue (not sure what that is either…).______________________________________Reading the scent’s product description:“L’Insomnuit is an ode to light and dark. It opens with boozy plum and bergamot. Fir balsam and resins follow and then Iris absolute takes full reign. Cedar and Tonka are the final velvety vapor to this perfumer’s magnum opus.’That sets up big expectations, as does the hefty price tag.___________________________________________🎯 WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS SCENT: Designer & CompositionI did a little Google of Robert Piguet to learn that he was a Swiss-born, Paris-based fashion designer who trained Christian Dior and Hubert de Givenchy. He died in 1953, and since that time his name has been associated exclusively with fragrances, packaged in black bottles.I also checked out ‘Tonka’ an element of this scent. It’s an edible, black bean that has a sweet aroma. Sort of like almond or vanilla, with creamy undertones of tobacco. Warm and a little bit masculine.‘Iris Absolute’ was another scent I was unfamiliar with and wanted to know more. Extracted from Orris roots, the oil has a scent that’s earthy, sweet, and floral. The most expensive element - is undoubtedly the addition of ‘Oud’. Pronounced “rod”, it’s also called Agarwood and is primarily from Southeast Asia. The oil from this wood is extremely expensive. Said to be 1.5x’s the value of gold! A sweet, woody, smoky, musky scent that has been used in Southeast Asia, India, and the Middle East for ages. Often used in incense burned in mosques, it’s also a favorite of luxury perfumeries.___________________________________________❤️ MY CONCLUSION:I like to wear scents with musk and amber undertones. I’m not a big fan of sweet florals. This scent sounded like it might be something I would like very much. When it arrived I put some on my wrist. As expected this parfum takes very little to engage your olfactories! It grabs you and stays with you.As expected a rich, slightly masculine, musky, woodsy yet sweet scent is primary. It was tough for me to experience the undertones. I would imagine the primary is Oud since I do get the faintest hit of what it's like to have incense burning with this scent. If you are looking for a light floral, this is not for you. But if you want a warm, rich, complex scent that is reflective of its elements and their ethnic roots, then you'll love it.==========================================

Nice light scent that last a long time with just a tiny spray
I can not wear myself or be around those that wears strong fragrance because my sensitive sense of smell so I always been a cool water cologne type if anyone is old enough to remember that blue bottle. This one has a light scent my nose can handle and won't give me a headache. I like how just a tiny spray on my neck can last pretty much all day. My son says it smell like vanilla. Not sure if i smell that.Only downside for me for an average guy like me it's little over budget. So for those ladies that wants to treat her man, this would be a great gift.

Did not like
This perfume smells like an old person. I was not impressed with it. I think its more of a manly scent than feminine. It is strong.

Not compatible with my skin, apparently.
Robert Piguet (1898-1953) was a fashion designer and perfumer in the 1940s in France. He's famous for training Christian Dior and Hubert de Givenchy. I'm fairly certain that this particular fragrance was not actually created by him, unless his ghost inspired the actual creator.Fashion Fragrances and Cosmetics purchased his fragrances and his name and now produces several perfumes with his name on them. This one, launched in 2016, is an ode to insomnia. The promotional campaign announced it as a "new haunting fragrance that asks the question 'What keeps you awake?'"Well, maybe it's the fragrance itself that keeps me awake. Although it claims to be a unisex perfume, woody and plummy and spicy, I mostly notice its sweetness. On my skin it smells a bit like burnt sugar and I find it cloying. Guess it and I are not compatible.

a great fragrance named after a unique individual
Robert Piguet is a bit of a pioneer in quality fragrances with his venture into this olfactory art form as a side project for his already successful career in fashion design. I like this mans style with emphasis on his suits due to myself being a suit fan. With an artist that has a signature look having a cologne that mimics the mans personality is hard to do. Thankfully with this great smelling cologne L'Insomnuit, you have a fragrance that is based on a woody yet medium strength affair that is strong but not overwhelming. I noticed the fragrance seemed to have different tiers of release in that there was a pleasant shift after the third hour. After time passes the smell takes on a seasonal blending with the outside naturally occurring smells. I went on a hike in the woods an feel this worked in tandem with the atmosphere and wilderness to compliment the overall experience. This is a long lasting cologne with it still being present after an eight hour work shift.I received several compliments on this in passing. The spray nozzle emits just enough of the liquid to not be to saturating with the fine mist produced being perfect. In conclusion I am very happy with this and recommedn it. I will give this my rare five star rating because I feel it is a fully realized scent that is an instant classic.

Amazing
Very pleasantly pleasing scent. Not overwhelming whatsoever yet gets noticed immediately and asked what the parfum is. It’s a spray bottle with a lid that just pulls off without twisting. I very much like the parfum and will enjoy the fragrance every time I wear it. Four Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!

I feel special wearing this.
I was excited to try this cologne out. I find it to be very pleasant overall but not overpowering. The fragrance seems to last a long time and it’s very enjoyable in my opinion. Fragrances are always hard to review as each person has their own likes and dislikes. What one person loves the next person may hate. I personally like this one. I also had a few very positive comments by others that noticed it. I’m not a huge Cologne guy overall but occasionally I do enjoy it. At almost $200 for a bottle I feel very special wearing this. This product is made in France, which is known for its fine fragrances. Comes in a nice simple but elegant looking bottle with spray. Works great! Recommended.
