The Best Float Ever!
After trying many different brands this one wins hands down! Although our pond pump came with a float-fill device it did not work properly. During hot summer days we were always topping up our pond by hand. This one works perfectly. The fitting is made of quality brass and the float of durable plastic. So pleased with this product!

Won't shut off/ UPDATE!!!
After I had a little more time to go through my installation and then I removed it and it was like the 5th time, I was surprised that I have been over it so close yet I have missed the leaking float. It's actually got a pinhole in one end right along the center line from the mold, and it was dripping constantly upon removal and I think it is actually leaking in multiple spots along the center line all the way around. You can actually see inside the thing on the pinhole. What a bunch of garbage. I see it isn't like it's the first one, I think I have come across a few others just in recent reviews. I have a replacement for this one coming but I don't plan on using it, I will be returning both. It's officially been a giant waste of my time and I'm sure not pleased that the things don't receive any quality control before sending out. I bet there are a lot more where that came from. Seems like the float is most likely too small for it to create the lift pressure to shut down. Doesn't matter if you have the water set to a trickle or any amount of flow, that float is just not getting any pressure on the valve. It will run all day and night and I was shocked to see my flood when I got to in the next morning. Adjustment of the float makes no difference at all, and it will completely submerge and it is still allowing a little flow. I can get it to close by lifting up with my finger and it is not the valve itself because it shuts down just fine. I have read about leaking floats on this one but it's not getting any water inside the float on this one. I believe it's just too small. Not sure if anyone has had the same issue, and sadly compared to the other ones that you see the majority of the sellers have being plastic, I really don't want to say that the quality is terrible, but I believe it is a poor design of the float, and I have questions about the shape, it's wedge shape seems to be a waste of design and it will submerge the narrow end of the wedge and the float doesn't even begin to lift or float until it's all the way to the other end, the larger end before you can see it begins to float and create any lift at all. I think I'm going to have to go local and find a replacement for the float or make something to get by for the time being.

Used for fountain auto filler valve
I bought this for the brass connection to create a self-filling fountain. I connected to 5/8" poly tubing with my sprinkler box. Things to consider: The float didn't work as I wanted for my fill direction, but you can kind of manipulate it. The float will end up being the weak point of this setup. I had a hard time finding a 1/2" female to female connector for the actual line. Had to use PVC, but it seems to be working fine. The fill is kind of slow, so if you have this connected to any kind of timer (like my sprinklers) give it a good long time to activate before shutting off. Overall does what I need and the price was much cheaper than the advertised "fountain filler" kits.

Works well
I use this to automatically keep my water garden filled. My old float finally died. I ordered this thinking it would just twist on to the pex pile. My son told me differently. My bad, but what do I know about this sort of thing. Fortunately, he’s very mechanically savvy and was able to make it work. It does work well.

Nice float valve
I used this for an autofill for a water feature. Its compact size made it much easier to install. The adjustable angles and float allowed for perfect water level setting. It provided a professional quality part for my install

good quality but threads were abnormal
i ended up making this unit work but the threads were off enough to the point that i had to use a plastic fitting and kind of cram it on to make my connecting to the hose. I think the thread cutting during manufacturing is not very precise(made in china). Update, i ordered another for a second job and this one has different threads as well, does not fit normal 1/2" NPT not sure if they are being machined as metric or just bad threading but be aware you will have to figure out a way to adapt to the correct threads.

Difficult to find anything not to like about this product. I was never happy with the original installation for the fountain in our garden, first the plastic hose burst from the water pressure (needing a pressure regulator installed in the supply line) then the plastic float valve broke causing our front yard to flood. So, having more trust in metal I installed this metal float valve with all brass fittings and a braided hose. One minor detail is the brass elbows to avoid any kinks in the hose so it's rather a no expense spared project after the problematic history of flooding the yard. One comment I should make about the thread on the valve after reading reviews about the threads being an issue. the thread on the valve is in fact a 1/2" IPS (aka FIP) which is commonly used on toilets and hoses like this that fit it are commonly available in just about any hardware store. It isn't a tapered thread, and it isn't supposed to be. All told, I'm very happy with the result.

I am using it for my duck pond

Works way better than the plastic replacements No leaks at hose connection Only downside I thought was the float shape it is prone to jamming open with pigs rooting and filling the bowl with crud. The plastic tube floats seemed to resist this occurring.

Float applies insufficient lift to shut the water off. I installed this unit, turned the water on and watched the water fill up, completely submerge the float and keep going. The float provided is too small or the valve is too stiff. Either way unit doesn’t work.
