Excellent reproductions of his paintings together with details of John Singer Sargent's life. Very good value.

Since it's an affordable volume, I'm ok with the overall print quality. Only a fraction of the images is in low resolution. Nevertheless it's a success to gather so many images of his work, because they are scattered in so many small museums and private collections. The text has many interesting anecdotes about the master's life. You should see his intimate letter to Monet for example. If you are in doubt, please buy this book to encourage publishers for more Sargent books. Because there aren't many, and the other Sargent books are pretty expensive.
