Robertshaw 700-506 Gas Valve, Fast Opening, 200,000 BTUH

Worked fine right out of the box. Easy install.

Tengo freidoras marca Royal en mi pizzeria y cuando se me daño el plomero me dijo que buscara un repuesto. Estas valvulas quedan muy bien y ya tengo tiempo usandolas sin fallos. Cabe decir que mi valvula llego en buen estado. La instalacion es muy rapida pero se recomienda que lo haga una persona con conocimiento de freidoras.

It needs to be known that this Gas Valve, Robertshaw 700-506 is sent as a NATURAL GAS Valve, if you want to use it on LP, you will need to purchase a Robertshaw 1751-013 LP Gas Regulator and change out the Natural Gas Regulator. THIS IS NOT A LP GAS VALVE, but if the regulator is changed, it will work just fine. It was not an issue with my application, because I was changing it our on a gas fryer and I simply used the regulator that was on the old valve and it worked just fine. OTHER THAN THAT, this is a great valve at a KILLER PRICE !!!!

After 11 years the valve on my gas fireplace went bad. I purchased A Robertshaw valve 700 - 800 series for only $54. I purchased one that was “ gently used“. However, it was actually not used I think it was just sent to someone and they realized it was the wrong model and then they returned it. So I purchased it. When it arrived it had an Amazon sticker on the box that said “thanks to you, this product has a second life” Also, it arrived in two days. It was super easy and fast to install. I just took a picture of the old one before I took it out and copied the photo to install it. I Highly recommend buying your Robert shower valve from the Amazon warehouse, and filled by Amazon!

Our 70 year old gas furnace died during the coldest week of the year and we were tripping circuit breakers running electric heaters in eavery bedroom. Three furnace repair companies came out and they all refused to touch the old beast. I don't blame them, but we needed heat and weren't ready to replace the furnace. I troubleshooted the system and found that the old General Controls B-60 gas valve wasn't operating when getting millivolts through the thermostat. This gas valve was delivered the next day and I was able to install and get the furnace running again with a minor modification to the pilot outlet.

First one lasted less than two winters & stopped working. Second AND third ones, received in a 2 week period, worked but LEAKED CONSTANTLY into the furnace burner housing, even when the thermostat is off and the pilot is lit. It's not quite enough to sustain a flame in the burner but fills the basement with strong gas smell. I'll never buy anything from Robert Shaw again! Their junk is DEFECTIVE and DEADLY!! DEADLY!! Edit, this has been pinpointed and confirmed with a digital gas tester.

I ordered this valve based on other reviews, particularly one that said he used it for his old pool heater. I have a very old pool heater and took a gamble on this one. It works well. It has 3/4” fnpt and comes with 3/4-1/2” adapters. The pilot tube connection was in a different spot but was easily retrofitted. Biggest downfall was the month an a half to receive it as that was all of July any half of august but the pool heater is working and works well.

I have used this to replace the original ITT gas valve of my boiler dated 1953. Not bad for DIY beginner homeowner to install. Works good so far

I received a replacement gas valve from Amazon after returning the previous one due to a malfunction — the pilot flame wouldn’t stay on. However, the replacement I received appears to be the exact same item I returned. The box had oil stains, and the valve showed the same defect: the pilot flame still does not stay lit. This caused significant time loss and labor costs (over 2 hours wasted). It seems that the returned defective unit was resent without proper inspection or replacement. Please investigate this issue and arrange either a verified new replacement or a full refund. I’m very disappointed since this was an essential repair part, and it caused unnecessary downtime.
