Doll Days! Sew an Everyday Wardrobe for 18" Dolls: Stylish Patterns to Mix, Match & Embellish

One of my daughters requested this book for her birthday. She has made a couple garments from it and they have turned out well. I appreciate how they show variations made up, so the seamstress can change up the patterns a bit and create endless possibilities. The patterns are not too difficult, require only small lengths of fabric, and the instructions are easy to follow. Appropriate for all levels of sewing skill.

I bought this book after loving the fit and design that I found in Sew N Style. Though this book has fewer patterns, it doesn't disappoint, and the modification and finishing tips are very helpful even though I have been sewing for over 30 years. I agree, this is for an intermediate or advanced sewist, vs. beginner. If a mom or grandmother is teaching her daughter/granddaughter to sew for her 18" dolls as I am, this is a great addition, when you want to sew something a little more challenging.

Has good patterns with a variety of outfits to sew for the doll (18 inches) with instructions thought out the book.

Book is better than I imagined it would be - pictures are instructive, book is organized in a sensible way - each pattern has full color instructions. Patterns are on nice white paper. Be sure if you buy used that those patterns are there because they are mounted in the back and can be pulled out. Mine was new and very very nicely done - this is much better than some books I have seen. I am getting back into sewing doll clothing as a hobby since my DD is now an adult, and I wanted quality paper patterns instead of thin brown tissue and this is the way to go! If you price even ONE sewing pattern fromt he Big 4 you will see this book is less expensive than retail on one pattern. Good grief. Love this. I will be tracing the patterns on a heavier paper stock for future use as templates for designing something myself for my doll or dolls. Once the bug hits, who knows?

The instructions for the projects are really easy to follow, and well written, but the fits of the clothes seem to be a little loose in the neck on both of the projects I've done so far. I've cut the fabric exactly to the pattern shape and followed all of the instructions, but I still wind up with these loose necks.

I have two of her books! They are both excellent! Her instructions are clear and include pictures of the steps. She illustrates many ideas to give each pattern many different looks! Fit is great on my doll! ( American Girl).

Well written instructions, lots of nice items to sew for dolls. This book came packaged well and in good shape.
