Miracle stuff!
Brilliant stuff which does the job. It completely removed quite a nasty infestation on mine and my daughters after we left it on for 2 hours. The only tricky part was rinsing it off. Took 8 shampoos. Definitely worth using a clarifying shampoo to assist with removing it. It’s also very slippery so put lots of newspaper down when you use it! Apart from that, it’s good stuff and my hair felt absolutely fine after using it.

Perfect for long hair!
After using multiple products without success, I wouldn't use anything else now on my daughters long hair. Very easy to apply. Its greasy but that's good because it makes it so easy to pull a fine toothed comb through long, thick hair. It took 2 shampoos to wash out. The comb was ok but I preferred the NitNot comb purchased separately. The teeth were finer and removed the eggs better.

Effective would recommend - long thick hair
Working in a children's home, I have caught the dreaded nits a couple times now. I haven't had them since I was a child and am now in my 30's! I had been using the Hendrin shampoo treatment, which did seem to work. But when I got them again, I thought I'd try this. It's a really thick greasy serum that coats all of your hair easily. I used half the bottle on my long thick hair and will use the rest on the second treatment in 7-9 days as recommended. It was super easy to comb through whilst the treatment was in the hair and everything coming out was definitely dead, after having the treatment on for about 30 mins. I only found 3/4 lice, but a lot of eggs. I then left the treatment in for a further 1.5 hours and washed out. Whilst it recommends using washing up liquid, I used shower gel and did 3 washes and then a good conditioner. I followed up with a final comb through and there was nothing coming out on the comb! So impressed so far. I would recommend purchasing the NotNit comb too as it's design makes it easier to use when your hands are slippery from the treatment. The treatment doesn't smell of anything either, which was a bonus!

There's a method to killing lice and it doesn't really depend on the product you use
With two kids in primary school and one in nursery, I have been battling lice for years now and multiple times per term. I am resigned to the fact that I will be treating lice at least once a month until they're in secondary. So this is a very costly task - both in money and time. So my review is based on those two factors because after trying literally every product on the market, not a single one is 100% effective first time. And if you're expecting to do a one and done treatment, you will be repeating this cycle more often than necessary because you absolutely have to break the cycle and repeat your treatment. So in my opinion, you're better off ignoring the effectiveness claims of a product and focus more on the time and money aspects and make sure your method is correct. PROS There are lots of pros to using this product outside of the ones shown in the listing. It is the only way to get a comb through my daughters very thick hair and I think this would be a good fit for anyone with thick, curly, or dry hair. I would never, ever, put fairy liquid on my children's hair. I don't want to deal with the damage and dryness but I can understand it's a cheap option for dissolving the oil. I have found that if you apply any shampoo directly to the hair BEFORE water, it creates a creamy lather. Add little bits of water to make it lather more, rinse and repeat 2 more times. This has been effective at getting it out. It is competitively priced for what's out there but given the cons (below) the price feels a bit high as the time required to treat is so much longer than the other options out there. CONS This is a very time consuming option compared to other products. I like that it's eco friendly and just one ingredient but waiting 2 hours to comb and trying to keep kids away from pillows and couches (because it transfers oil everywhere) is a stressful nightmare. Some of them will keep a towel on their heads but try doing that with my 2 year old, not a chance. Washing it out takes forever too. There are shampoo based treatments out there and other oil based options that take 20 minutes or less to be 'effective'. None of them are 100% like I said so I tend to purchase the quicker ones and take an awful amount of care combing. I've even had luck using pure coconut oil with a few drops of peppermint and tea tree oil, but the same time consuming issue applies to this option (and the oily mess) but it's the cheapest option I've found. The MOST important thing you can do in this process is to repeat it in 7 days (and many times I've done a third treatment 7 days after that and found the lice still kicking). I love all of the advice provided in the listing, all of it is spot on in my experience, so don't skip any of these steps and you should be lice free in no time! I would recommend this product to people with certain hair types and older children who can be responsible and stay away from textiles. If you are short on time or have younger children, you're better off getting a 15 minute shampoo option, combing really well, and repeating in a week. It is the same result. Hope this helps!

Great product and best I’ve used
Great product , only stuff that actually works on my daughters hair , she has curly thick ginger hair and no matter how much I plait her hair and keep her hair from being out , she has still ended up with nits , I’ve bought all other known brands even had some from the pharmacy on the ailments schemes and still had them. I left the product on longer than stated and fully drenched the hair but after one dose and washed off and combed through with provided comb , I had no nits and even got the eggs out , I will continually check her hair with a comb and reapply in a week or so to make sure they have totally gone but I say this and she is due to go back to school tomorrow after half term so I’m hoping all this prevention and doses of the product will not get to having more . It doesn’t smell,it’s easy to apply, it does leave a grease type residue if you get it on fabric or clothes , so I made I had a towel around her shoulders when applying and used washing up liquid to wash hands and combs . I also plait her after application to keep it all in one place .

Not a winner for us
Update after 2nd treatment: I followed up a week later with a second treatment. Along with more eggs I found one very large adult louse which was either newly caught or survived the original application. But seems to have worked eventually. Increased rating as it did eventually work, even if the first application wasn’t a success. - With two kids in infant school lice are constantly making their way back into our house so wish I had the positive experience so many others had, but I found this possibly the worst I’ve tried to date. Pros: - No nasty smell (although found the same of Hedrin and Full Marks). - Found it significantly easier to remove eggs when combing through with a nit comb before washing out compared to the other brands. - Washes out as easily as any other. Did so the only way I’ve ever done it with any brand (fairy liquid straight onto hair without wetting, then rinse and repeat 2 more times before a final wash with shampoo). It takes 5 minutes and left the hair squeaky clean - although not as soft and conditioned-looking as other brands. Cons: - The only one that matters. Doesn’t kill the lice! I presume the claim that it kills 100% is based on the drowning lice in the stuff in a lab rather than real world conditions. I applied as directed, but left for 5 hours as I was sceptical. After 5 hours I saw two crawling around in her hair still very much alive. I then re-applied for 2 more hours and did a final go over with a nit comb. - Awful to apply, for sure the worst of the three brands I’ve tried. So very oily and gloopy. I’ll finish the bottles with a follow up treatment but then it’ll be back to Full Marks for us.

Absolutely brilliant, worth every penny and lasts ages
I HATE NITS WITH A PASSION! im itching just thinking about them !!! I promise I have tried everything on the market. I wasn't thinking this was going to be any better! You put the gunk in their hair and still end up with some nits. Not with this stuff! Before I have finished they are dropping out her hair! This is really the BEST headlice remover. I have ever used. My daughter has long thick hair. Any parent knows its going to be a nightmare when nits are doing the rounds. NitNOT I swear by it won't use anything else now! Its oily but use very sparingly. Bottle lasts ages so worth the money. Washed out nicely. Don't smell, sting or anything like the others! I always keep it handy won't use anything else now. From one Mom to other buy it honest. If it was useless I would say! Im shocked hiw good it is.so credit where it's due !

Used Once and Shocked by the Hair Fall
1 out of 5 stars - Used Once and Shocked by the Hair Fall I am honestly very disappointed and quite worried after using this product. We applied it only once on our 2-year-old daughter, and within hours we noticed a lot of hair fall. She has never had any hair fall issues before this, not even a single hairfall, but after using this treatment just once, we found a worrying amount of hair falling out. We followed the instructions exactly as written, so this was really unexpected and stressful for us as parents. I genuinely bought this because of the good reviews, but our experience was the opposite. Maybe it works for some people, but based on what happened to our daughter, we definitely won’t be using it again. I hope this helps other parents decide, especially if you have very young children. For us, it caused more panic than relief.
