My guess is that it's a gamble either way. I bought the display port as you, yet my computer saw it as a vga adapter rather than dp or hdmi. I would have rather had it recognized as an hdmi. Seems like that shirt of thing may vary from unit to unit.

Perfect for looking glass!

Works great for using looking glass in a virtual machine with a dedicated GPU. I was able to force the display to 1440p 144hz in the NVIDIA settings. It might default to a lower res and refresh rate when you first try it but works fine if you change it to anything you want.
