Been using for years and can't get to sleep without it
I rave about this pillow cooling pad! NO refrigeration needed! Works as soon as your body touches it. I purchased one years back and the gel finally got hard and useless so I was extremely happy to find the replacement. It doesn't show in the photos, but this pad can fold down to 1/3 the width, which comes in very handy for me. I place this on top of my pillowcase. The cooling effect lasts about 10-15 minutes. Since I am a side sleeper I only use half, and then if I need more I rotate it. When not in use I put it either under my pillow or next to me, since it folds up. Yes, it does get warm after that 15 or so minutes of use. But that is because it absorbs the heat from your face, or wherever you use it (sometimes I put it directly on my chest if I am that hot). It cools back down on its own when not in use. Worth every penny and then some to get a good start to my nights sleep. For added comfort, I only buy natural fiber bedding such as linen because of its temperature regulating properties. Hope this review helps.

Cooling Pad for Bed – A Lifesaver for Hot Flashes and Night Sweats
This cooling pad has been an absolute game-changer for me during menopause. Since I don’t accept hormonal therapy, finding natural and effective relief from hot flashes and night sweats has been a challenge—until now. The pressure-activated gel provides instant cooling the moment I lie down, and it genuinely helps regulate my body temperature throughout the night. I love that it doesn’t need to be plugged in or frozen; it just works on its own. The cooling effect is soothing, not shocking, and it helps me fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer without waking up drenched in sweat. The pad is comfortable, well-made, and fits perfectly on my bed without shifting around. If you’re experiencing menopausal hot flashes or night sweats and are looking for a non-hormonal solution, I highly recommend this cooling pad. It’s simple, effective, and has significantly improved my sleep quality and overall comfort.

Men get hot too!
Many of these reviews are from women who understably need relief from hot flashes. What I think is lacking are comments from men. Lets face it guys we want the temperature much lower then the ladies begining early in life. I purchased this pad over 2 years ago becuase I find it difficult to go to sleep hot. Yes without the pad eventually my core temperture drops as I relax and stop moving but for me this can take 2 hours. My research found several devices that appear would provide relief but many were very $. I bought this pad based on ths reviews and overall I agree with most of the comments. I lay the pad on by bed on top of the sheet. When I first lay down the cold sensation is little shocking but very quickly I begin to enjoy it and I start to relax. I now look forward to laying down because the relif is instant. Yes the pad does not stay cold and yes it can get a little warm but I find the pad pulls the heat from my body and stores it within the pad. This doesn't bother me becuase what happens is I begin to get cold and the pad begin to provide relief from the cold. Just writing this sounds crazy because I am always hot but it works. Give it try.

Ok but could be better
It is very cold!!!! Problems... It's very heavy. The material is slick. My wife thought it was a great idea but after 3 hours it turned into a heating pad and absorbed her body heat n radiated it. Also felt wet as is. I made a cover/ case for it, and it helped. Over all great in theory, but needs to be taken back to the drawing board.

So effective, you'll wake up with teeth chattering!
I wish I'd bought the smaller ones, because wow do these things cool you down! Too much! Don't lie on these directly skin-to-pad because you will stick to it and get uncomfortable. Don't stay on them too long because they'll heat up to your body temp and be ineffective. I highly highly recommend buying two smaller ones, not one large one, not only because they're dense and unwieldy, but so that you can switch off and allow one to cool you off while the other sits over there somewhere and dissipates its collected body heat. Also, you'll have more control over how much of your body is chilled at once. And if you buy more than one, you can put one in your dog's bed and help your pup cool off too. And I wonder...if I buy a small enough pad, could I maybe ALWAYS have a nice cool pillow???

SO AMAZING!
First thing you should know is this sucker is HEAVY! It's heavier and floppier than a weighted blanket. It's like moving a dead body in the middle of the night kinda heavy (Eh....ok...I'm guessing here, really, I have zero actual experience moving corpses nor do I have any plans to. Ew. I promise, this is just a guess, but it is super heavy and impossible to move half awake! Like trying to move your kid after they fall asleep in the car kinda heavy). So do not plan (like I dumbly did) to move it around when you need it. I already had the "pillow" so I thought I could move this. NO way irl. Next thing is it does get hot after a while because it sucks the heat out of you. So if you heat up it's better to have room so YOU can move since this is a heavy slab of flappy corpse (again, guessing, but you get the idea). But suck the heat out of you? Yes indeed. And it's gloriously cold. The other thing is I would not leave it in the bed in the morning. It feels almost damp and I would worry about mold even with my tempurpedic mattress. SO air it all out, but that said it is 100% worth it if you have night sweats or sudden bursts of heat from medicine, medical stuff, or menopause, or are blessed like me and have all the above. So no one else has to suffer with my turning the air to arctic because I suddenly turn into lava or a furnace-like a pizza oven in Florida in August. I slept so well with this! And the heat build up for my aches and stuff is not a bother. It actually felt nice because I go from super hot to freezing. I hope it lasts and will update after a time. Hope that helps!

Uncomfortable
This pillow is not soft or comfortable. It’s a bit stiff and cooling does not last long enough. Definitely not what’s stated in the detail. Not worth it.

it helps but why is it so expensive? imported no doubt. For me in hot weather it's only cool for 20 minutes but I'm small bodied and only take up half of its width so I roll to one side where it's still cool and let the other side cool down. I don't need to remove it from the bed or turn it over. I just shift around. once I'm asleep it doesn't matter to do that though. So I only bought it as a last resort after trying everything to keep cool in a heatwave. AC would be great but this is simple enough for now Edit a year later: I actually need 2. I keep it in the fridge now because weather is too hot for it to be cool enough. After half hour I would like to replace it with the other cool mat but it's too expensive to buy another

I don’t understand the science behind this thing whatsoever. What I do understand is that this is lovely. All you do is lay down and it’s cold. After about half an hour maybe a little less it’s no longer cold. In fact mine has gotten warm. It’s like it sucks the body heat out of you. The problem is it won’t get cool again until you get off it and let it reset. So don’t put this under your sheets. You will have to take it out constantly. It’s a little heavy. I wouldn’t say it’s unmanageable to fold it up and put it to the side. Personally I think it’s worth the hassle of taking it out of bed to reset itself because when it does it’s absolutely lovely. I’m pretty sure you could stick it in the fridge to make it reset faster but who’s doing that at 2am? So all in all just know that if you get this you will be moving it around. Or if you sleep alone keep it on one side of the bed. Roll over and let it do it’s magical weird sciencey thing.

Es bastante pesado como lo vi en otros comentarios. Pero estos tiempos de calor lo ameritaba
