Works great for my apple sauce

I bought this in 2017 because I wanted the grape screen. I had been using the original Victorio Squeezo I bought back in the 1970’s after reading about it in the Whole Earth Catalog (remember that?). Loved that Squeezo and got a chuckle over the manufacturer’s response to folks asking if these attachments would fit the Squeezo. They pointed out the Squeezo model hadn’t been made MANY years and perhaps we should buy a newer version. So I did. Got the 250 and these attachments. Wow! No more leakage. It took a little trial and error to run white currants through. Finally solved that. Use the berry screen with the shorter grape spindle. Works great. If you’re a home canner, these units are indispensable. Well worth the price for many, many years of service.

My mother had an apple tree and she always canned sliced apples with the skins on. When we wanted applesauce with dinner, we'd open a jar of apples and pour them into the Foley Food Mill and strained them. I never knew that there was such a thing as white applesauce until after I opened a grocery store can of applesauce after I first got married. I didn't realize the reason that she canned them that way was because it took so long to strain them. I also have an apple tree and this year the tree was bent to the ground with apples. I used to can the apples the same way as my mother, but not any more. Someone told me last year (when we didn't get any apples) that there was another kind of strainer and this year I searched the internet and found the Victorio Strainer with lots of positive reviews. I bought one and boy, am I glad I did. I can strain a quart of apples in about 2 minutes. Wow! What a time saver. I now can pints of applesauce instead of quarts of apple slices. I used to can just a few quarts because it was such a pain to use the Foley Food mill - cleaning it was almost as bad as straining the apples. The Victorio strainer cleans in a snap. My only complaint would be that it's a little hard to get it put together the first time. Make sure that you watch the video provided on their internet site. I also bought the berry screen because I have spent bunches of time pureeing raspberries through a sieve. I'll never have to do that again. Berry straining is as easy as straining the applesauce. An added comment is that I got a great discount on the strainer because I signed up for the Amazon card when I purchased the strainer.

I found a food grinder second hand and needed the extra attachments. They work perfectly.

My wife and I process as many jars of tomatoes as we can when the garden is producing and the Victorio food strainer makes the job so much easier. The screen that comes with the strainer removes all skin and seeds and you are left with pure tomato sauce. However, I prefer a chunkier tomato product for cooking and I thought I'd give the Salsa screen a try. It removes about 99% of the skin and leaves most of the seeds. That's OK because I think the seeds look good in spaghetti sauce and other dishes. The screen is not that difficult to clean if you use a butter knife to scrape the skins from the inside and outside of the screen. I'm glad we bought it.

I bought this attachment to make salsa and it was perfect. It left just the right amount of chunk in the tomatoes.

I thought it would be of lesser quality when I bought it based on the price but was pleasantly surprised. I have used it multiple times now and it works well and is easy to clean. I was going to buy the electric motor but ended up using a cordless drill on slow speed and it works great.

So far, I have put five pounds of blueberries through this for home brewing. This screen combined with the manual juicer does such a better job than my electric model.

Well made, would give it five stars but the strainer machine itself has gone down hill in quality compared to how they use to be made. But so has everything thing else made today. This strainer is a must if you have a big garden and lots of produce to process.
