Best enjoyed with an audio interface/amplifier.
When I bought this for my use, I was a little underwhelmed by the sound. Sure, it was great - but not the mindblowing experience I frequently heard from other reviewers. It should be noted that at this time, I was still plugged into my laptop's audio jack HOWEVER, that opinion changed when I plugged these K240 mk2s into my audio interface's direct monitor jack - all thanks to the quarter inch attachment included in the box. I suddenly was blown away by the new dimension of sound I heard! GET THESE HEADPHONES!!! (If you have an audio interface or amplifier) For reference, my audio interface is the behringer u-phoria UMC22 interface.

Weight; Almost all AKG headphones are light weight, so no worries. Build Quality; Really better build quality, than it's comparators, though it is just hard plastic. Also, the velvet pads are soooo comfy Function Usage; 1. Best for studio recordings ; it's a closed back!! 2. The field emulation is quite great considering its price, so it's definitely considered for orchestra related music. 3. I'm not personally a drummer but my fellow people says it's worth it! 4. Detachable cable, so worthable for live sound (like field recording) Sound quality; Frequency range: The bass is not enough(feels even lower than flat ones), making it too dull. The mids and highs are arguably good. Clarity: The instrument isolation is every clear but lacks volume (compared with DT770 80 ohms) even after using a better DAC. Clarity further decreases when used in mobile systems (including laptops); tried on Dell G15 and Asus F15, both feels off. I don't personally like this use of mini XLR but, it's fine (locks perfectly and easy to attach and detach)

スタジオモニタースピーカーで聞いたときのような無理のないバランスの取れた音域とオープンエア独特の開放的な音が大変気に入っております。 非常にお手頃価格の優れた商品だと思います。

As in previous reviews, know what you are buying, I have used them as a Sound Tech and also at home for personal use, they are fantastic you hear things you did not know were on the recording before. They are not full of bass so if that's your thing go elsewhere but if you want to hear music at home or single out an instrument on stage of a vocalist these are for you I gave away my previous set to a well deserved Tech who needed them, I bought them in 1992. Very happy the news ones are just as good as the old ones as this does not always happen now as quality has slipped to keep prices low, these are still "all good" Thank you AKG
