Nice looking set of salt and pepper for any potter head

We are big Harry Potter fans in our family so when I saw these I knew I had to buy them. They are brilliant. I love the sizes which are roughly 7.5 cm / 4 cm in total. The red one has a larger capacity than the black and the red one has 3 holes and the black 2. This is obviously a bit strange for us in the uk where we have one hole for salt and multiple holes for pepper but these are produced in the US where salt would be put in the smaller one with the least holes and pepper in the larger one as they are of the opinion that salt should be used sparingly hence why the hogwarts express is smaller in capacity. I know from reading other reviews prior to ordering this has been mentioned on numerous occasions so I felt it might be useful to explain the thinking behind their design. Obviously it’s entirely up to you which one you use for salt or pepper. Personally I’ve put salt in the smaller one too but it doesn’t matter as the holes are the same size in both. The stoppers underneath are good quality rubber and a nice tight fit but are easy to remove. I’d wash these by hand to protect the vibrancy of the colours but as they are made of ceramic I guess you could put them in the dishwasher without the stoppers in. Price wise they are what I would expect from Harry Potter merchandise and to me they are worth every penny. A real talking point on your dinner table. Update…..I’m so disappointed. After only having these for a comparatively short time all the ‘embellishments’ on the red salt pot flaked off. I’ve had to throw it in the bin. It hadn’t been washed other than it’s initial clean in soapy water by hand and rinsed thoroughly. Since then it’s just been wiped clean with plain water using a soft cloth. The pattern first faded and then just peeled off like it hadn’t been properly sealed. I don’t understand why this has happened to the salt pot and yet the little train pepper pot is perfect. I can no longer recommend this item.
