Cork Pops Black 6.5 Inch Original Wine Bottle Opener

These are my favorite wine openers! Makes for a great gift and very user friendly.

We were turned on to this at a winery in Napa, Ca. I loved it and bought it at the winery. I love it, it works so good. I later bought one for our son for Christmas.

Bought 2 last December as my 21st birthday was in February and I was already a wine drinker. Gifted one to my mother because she always seemed to have problems using a regular corkscrew because corks would crack and it requires strength that makes it awkward for her to open a bottle with. She is in love with it! and my father is also a wino so I bought one for his birthday last month and every time he calls me he says that he is in love with his new wine toy/bottle opener. At 15 dollars and with the cartridges easily available in Houston at SPEC's locations this is a great gift that is very usable and has a wow factor when used infront of friends. My friends whine asking if they can open wine with it when they see me pull it out of my kitchen cabinet and my mom says her friends do the same. My father likes this because he says on bottles 7 years or older the corks sometimes deteriorate and crumble and these help open the bottle with less cork breaking up into the bottle so he likes it for that added benefit. The cartridges are a little pricey I guess at what about 10 dollars for 2? but 1 cartridge opens an advertised 60 bottles of win, we might get 40-50 because we probably dispense the co2 cartridge a little more than we should. It takes a good while to open that many bottles of wine and it is such an effortless tool. Don't think of this as a gimmick device.

My favorite way to open wine. I give these as gifts

I did extensive research trying to find a cleaner and easier way to open wine than the traditional corkscrew. I looked at many variations including hand pump ones. It seemed there was no well reviewed one's out there which made me skeptical. I originally avoided CO2 variations as I felt that constantly buying cartridges would be annoying if not environmentally unfriendly. And, after reading horror stories of bursting wine bottles, I was afraid to even try any type. However, this product has greatly changed my opinion. For starters, the needle hole placement is virtually clog free as it is located on the side of the needle not the tip. The process of opening the wine is at the push of a button. The refills are advertised to last around 50 openings. I've only used it for 5 thus far but I could see it lasting that long. Nonetheless I bought extra cartridges just in case. I open the wine over the sink just in case with a scrunched face but so far every bottle has opened cleanly. Presentation alone makes me love this product. The storage case helps it stay protected in the wine drawer while also looking fancy. Granted it is just a plastic case but still. I would recommend being careful with the needle while inserting it in the cork as it's pretty skinny for good reason.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I bought this about a year ago. It works well and is fun when it pops. Sounds dumb but it is entertaining and makes people in the room laugh. I would recommend keeping a spare cartridge on hand since there's no warning when it will run out of gas and then is hard to pull it out of the cork. Otherwise, I like it and gave one to my friend.

The best way to get the party started

I was visiting a local winery and they used this opener and I thought, I have to have it! It’s the best opener. No more struggling with the cork and having pieces in the bottle. All I have to do is insert needle into cork, press the top and the CO2 releases the cork. So simple!!! Includes additional cartridges but so far I have not needed to change it. Love it enough that I purchased 3 more as gifts!
