Being ophidiophobic and going through the jungle I needed a peaceful mind so I opted for this copy of a famous Australian model made of a tight 1000 deniers waterproof and snake proof fabric. I would tend to think it is made of nylon blended with polyester-cotton. The color is green Army so it is perfect for camouflage if you are an hunter or birds/ animals observer for example. Good for men or women with narrow calves though. I find them a bit low as they do not cover the knees so one hopes snakes attack only the protected ankles. It covers half of the foot top. Remember that if you go through snakes infested areas, it is indispensable to have top steel boots for the best protection. These gaiters are maintained in place thanks to elastics, a zipper and straps. A buckle attachment passes under the shoe so they will not move. These are very resistant, easy to take care of if you go through muddy places: just let them dry and brush. One of the best purchases I have ever done.

Good rugged material. Especially for the price, one thing to note they are just a Lil small feeling on the calf elastic upper band around the leg. But most likey will loosen over time, only time will tell.

Good fit. Can line them with insulation for more warmth.

Timber Rattler has fangs that range upward from 2.5 mm (five times longer than denim is thick) big rattlesnake species’ fangs can go up to 30 mm, sometimes more. I got these strictly for brush gaiters. I doubt they are snake proof but I have two methods for snakes, shoot em or go way around them. As brush gaiters they keep the stick tights off and most briar thorns don’t come through. Light weight and can fold away to be compacted for your pack

These are great for riding your motorcycle on a cold day and you don't like wind going up your pants leg. They are also good for weed eating so you don't ruin your pants being spattered with grass and weeds.

These are my preferred snake gaters right now. I appreciate that they stay in place and keep vegetation/thorns out of your shoe too. The wire on the bottom is too big for a smaller women's size but it doesn't seem to get in the way too often. Just kind of hangs there and would be nice to have it tighter. Slips down throughout the day but nothing horrible and overall still protected. Not as heavy duty as other snake gaiters are but says it still works so that's hopeful.

That's fine and fit! Very light and best choices for long distances walking. But to be honest I'm not sure how it will effective against powerful snakes such as diamondback rattlesnakes!
