The lamp itself is great when it works but the fuse blew after only a few weeks

i love this. i would not hesitate giving this as a gift. please be careful as the glass that hols the stars that light up is very heavy, you need to put the bulb in then put the cone shaped lamp on it. make sure that you don't keep moving around the base is very flimsy it should have been made to fit the cone shape better, ie have the lighted part actually fit inside the base as it just sits i am glad it bought it as it is absolutly beautiful just put it somewhere that you can just light it and leave it there. when this ge going it can get alittle hot but not hot enough to burn

Just bought this for my wife a few weeks ago. She's been running it every day from the time she gets up until bed time and she LOVES it. Love the changing lights, the glitter and the light reflecting on the wall looks pretty cool too. The ONLY potentially negative comment my wife made was that she wishes she could get a floor standing model that stands anywhere from 3 to 5 feet tall. She wants a BIG one. One last point that others have made... it does get a bit hot so it's not really for kids to get their hands on it.
