Would you buy this version for an 8 yr old or the children’s version?

I've used the regular version with kids of all ages, for fun and as a tutor. The regular set has about twice the number of tiles. The younger set looks like it has prettier colors. Aside from the colors and the number of tiles ($3 more for twice as many), they appear to be the same. You get some ideas included in the younger version but you can easily make up all sorts of games on your own.

What’s the difference between the 2 mobi games?

Hi! Thanks for the questions. Mobi Kids is for ages 4+. There are 86 tiles. The numbers go from 1-10 with the option of using the wild tiles as zeros. All players get the exact same number tiles. There are no multiplication/division tiles, only plus/minus tiles. Inside there is an activity booklet full of mini games for little ones as somethings they aren’t ready for equations. The mini games get kids using numbers in fun ways so they feel comfortable. The games offer a step-by-step progression to learning number/doing math! Mobi Kids offers a collaborative approach to numbers until the little ones are ready for competition. Then the game is explained and can be played in partners or as individuals. Mobi is for those 8+. There are 162 tiles. The tiles go from 1-12 and there is only on wild tile that can be used as any number between 1-12. Each players number tiles are luck of the draw. There are multiplication/division and addition/subtraction tiles included. The pace of Mobi is fast and the game is competitive. We hope this helps!
